Anyone know what Goudelock's upto. His shooting was straight up sick coming in. He had a decent floater too. And as much as I'm looking forward to how Canaan's going to adjust, I'm much more excited to see how Bev's gonna turn out. I expect that we haven't seen the depths of his shooting ability yet. I think he's gonna be lights out next year, or at least that's my hope.
He's like a really short sg. His shot is sick, smooth, with a quick release. The problem seems to me, just off the vids we've seen so far so the words not in yet but, he plays as if he is 5'11" which he is. No feel for the pass, and personally I can't abide by pgs who can't pass. I do see a bit of a poor man's Ellis in him. And the final reason I can't see him getting any minutes over Bev is the fact that his D is atrocious. His basic stance is horrible. He overplays every play and gets burnt quite easily and has bad defensive instincts. Maybe as bad as if not worse than Machado on defense. Great stroke though. I'd kill for a stroke like that.
Isiah Canaan documentary from his Soph year. Note the 3:56 mark. Really? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IF8t9tnVplI
We will hate PBev if this guy gets any run! We love to hate on our PG's. The next one is always the best one... Go ClutchCity!!!
Oddly, I think him seeing time against NBA competition if really out of his hands. The following needs to happen for him to see the floor: Lin or Beverley is traded; The Harden-Howard PnR creates a ton of uncontested three pointers for the PG. I don't expect much from him this season outside of playing very well at RGV.
Canaan reminds me of Jameer Nelson. Good jumper. Meh on D. Solid distributor. I think this young man has a decent future ahead of him. Hopefully it is in Houston. Unless Morey goes all Moreyball and gets a star PF.... then its okay.
Hes a very good shooter, but remains to be seen if it can translate to the nba level with better/longer defenders etc. But hell if Lowry can get shots of no reason Canaan caaan't. he he
