Did you not follow the Dwight Howard saga in the GARM?

    Farmstros is a blogger.

Houston 5A Baseball is someone who I don't "know" as well.

My firm's season tickets are actually right next to a blogger I've gotten to know really well this year. Good source for information.

Honestly, I'm not going to read back through all of your posts. Doing so would cost me brain cells that I'd rather keep.

    Why so?

I did and mentioned the same. This whole concept of "breaking news" and "sources" when it comes to Twitter is one that really annoys me. They all Tweet the same info as if they're the only ones who knew this information. Adam Schefter was probably the fourth or fifth person I follow that Tweeted the Eric Winston story last night he had broke the news. It's terribly annoying mainly because these guys always seem so smug about it. Rant over.

Farmstros wouldn't tweet if he didn't think it might be legitimate. Doesn't seem to be hearing anything first hand though. He stays pretty plugged into the minor league system.

Houston 5A I consider less reliable. I just wouldn't call them random. Probably shouldn't have called them legit.

I don't know for sure about these guys particularly...but many of the bloggers who are on Twitter have relationships with people within the organization.

Guys like Farmstros usually attend a lot of minor league games and usually get a lot of their information from guys within those organizations. Thus, if Farmstros has heard that Folty is headed to AAA, it's likely that he heard this from someone at Oklahoma City. The radio announcers and press corps and player development guys tend to talk pretty openly about this stuff with the bloggers.

I'm more skeptical of the 5A guy just because he makes it sound like his source is within the Astros' FO. If there's one thing we've learned the past 2 years, it's that the Astros' FO is Fort Knox. I'm not sure there's a more tight-lipped organization in baseball.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. What have they done in the past for them to be considered legitimate? I only follow Astros County (I think that's the name anyway).

Houston 5A baseball is Randy Byers. He follows high school baseball in Houston extremely close, and manages the best HS baseball forum in Houston (h5ab.com). He has relationships with many of the local past and present high school baseball coaches and players, and that's probably where he's getting his information fed in from.

Farmstros has reported promotions in the past.

The only thing I can recall from H5AB is talking about Wandy last year. Kind of like his tweets today, it wasn't overly specific, and nothing immediately happened.

Depends on what you mean by legit. Bedard has been steady, but he is on a 110 pitch limit and 34 years old. I may be looking at this wrong, but I don't think you are going to get prime prospects for him.

They do that in the minors. Players who aren't playing act as base coaches.
