Jah, nice threat. Now I know you're bored, with summer vacation being here, but before you know it high school will be back, and you can leave these issues to the adults
Jah Rule is a Rockets fan? That's new. Guys beware or he'll bust out in horrible off tune singing with J-Lo or Ashanti. Perfect example of why newly signed up rookies should not be allowed to immediately start threads.
Luxury tax starts at ~71 million. Salary Cap is about ~59. There is a huge area between Salary Cap and Luxury Tax threshhold. Once over the Salary Cap, a team has to use exceptions or follow trading rules to go further over the cap. Rockets have an infinite number of minimum player exceptions to sign guys to minimum contracts. Also, Les has paid the luxury tax once so it is probable that he is willing to pay it again for a contender. That said, I don't expect him to go to much over. http://www.cbafaq.com/salarycap.htm is a nice resource on explaining the NBA CBA.
Saying that once you're over the cap, you're in luxury tax is like saying once you get herpes, you also get AIDS.
Even if Dwight Howard signed with a different team instead of us so that we had a lot of extra cap space, I would not want to waste it by signing the horribly inefficient, lack-of-defense player that will have you stuck in mediocrity for years that is Monta Ellis. ...poor Dallas...
Yes, that's how I understood it originally. Just to lazy to really "think on it" til now. I still stand correct as I stated just recently. Just so you know, the penalty for going over the tax level is nothing to Les when we're dealing with small contracts. I think Les has no problem paying that for a chance to fill a championship roster. It's when you reach the tax level going on 3 years that's the killer. Something you fools not quite understanding about the advantages of going over the cap and your limits. So, seeing as I had to break this down to you feeble-minded peasants, I still thank you for your efforts, eh? (smh....I thought this board was loaded with high I.Q., CBA geeks)
Dude everyone fcking knows about the repeater penalty, we were all educated last year with the Lin/Asik signing. You coming in here like you're bringing some fcking revelation while not even knowing the difference between salary cap and luxury tax threshold is comical.
SMH, you just don't get it. It's okay, kid, maybe next time you'll put some actual thought into a thread instead of just assuming you know how the NBA works. Armchair GM's for the win!
Mavericks addition of Monte is a move to the side at best when losing mayo. Jack does improve the Cavs bench,,but makes the back court crowded. Irving and Jack are not a good fit together on the floor. They can have those players and where is Ellis suppose to play alongside Harden.... Not a good fit either (he is no point guard) Ellis slashing ability is overrated due to he is shorter than anyody playing at his position.
.....you obviously don't know why you pointing that out. Just did it for sake of doing it to see if something sticks.
