I'd think Toronto and the 604 would have theaters interested.

The theater wasn’t a particularly large one but it was sold out and there were a number of people waiting outside for any ‘no show’ tickets that might become available.

It was a very nice event. Evan Jackson Leong came up on stage to introduce the film. It was fun to see on the big screen, with an audience, cheering, clapping, gasping, laughing at all of the appropriate times. The home footage of the Lin family is precious. I especially loved the footage of Jeremy’s dad playing basketball. One of the producers afterward said that originally Mr. Lin had given them 2 DVDs to work with but, after seeing an early cut of the film, provided them with all kinds of film and videocassettes etc. He said they had a lot of footage to choose from.

Jeremy’s brother and sister-in-law were in attendance as was one of his Harvard coaches, I believe.

Pablo Torre hosted a nice little Q&A with Evan and the producers after the film. Last question was where do you see Jeremy in five years. I think they all took a turn answering. I took video of some of the Q&A and Evan’s intro but am not allowed to post. Asian CineVision says they will have full video posted in the future.

I did not stay for the reception afterwards.

It’s true that I knew a lot of the stuff that was in the film, but watching it reminded me of some things that hanging on the internet tends to make me forget. I could say a lot more about my personal feelings as I watched the film but, as most of them aren’t really Rockets thoughts, in deference to the cool Rockets fan on this, a Rockets forum, I’ll refrain and just say that seeing a lot of it was bittersweet.

Two general things I take away from the film, tho – Jeremy has a GREAT support team around him and there is not enough hate in this world to dim that kid’s light.

There is, however, way more than enough to knock me down so, if I have any brain at all in my head, I’ll stay away from any online basketball discussions until at least the beginning of the season.

    Thanks for asking.

I saw the same movie. What's there to say that would offend the Rockets forum? What you miss him with the Knicks? Jeremy Lin's karaoke skills were bad? They played that "Gangdam style" song in the film?

Of course they would be, we have interest in a lot of things and they never come to us due to legal complications or perhaps just a lack of effort from those that handle this matter

Thanks for posting the link to the Q & A

I think I can relate to the "bittersweet" feeling. Last night I was rewatching the Feb 19/12 Knicks/Mavs game in which Jeremy scored 28 pts and had 14 assists, and came up with a lot of non-Rockets thoughts too :)

Agree about Jeremy's great support circles - his faith, his church, family, friends, coaches... and fans ;) Haters can stop wasting their time and energy :p

I would guess that the movie was heartwarming and brought back great memories for a New Yorker and how it felt to be in NYC during Linsanity but was also bittersweet because of the extreme level of hate for Jeremy on this forum.

You would think Lin played for the Jazz or Mavs and not the Rockets if you came here for the first time.

    1. I was addressing one of the other few people who saw this movie, not someone who was speculating on it

    2. nobody hates Jeremy Lin here, nobody, people just hate Non Rockets fans.

I do think there is lots of hate on this BBS. Jeremy gets the lion's share. Partly because of his fans harping on everything he does or not. The reaction is not only to the so called "LOF" but also to high expectations because he is Linsanity. Well he is not all that but he did what he did and his play did revive a sinking team and he was on SI cover twice in a role. Yes, he is all that while in NY but it's not his fault.

The fans here want the best for the team. At least that's what I would think. Doesn't matter if you think he is worth the contract he got (I think he is and it was done as a way to get him and NOT have NY match). It worked!

Now it's his 2nd year. I personally want him to do well. Hope he stays on the team. But if he gets traded then life goes on. But as long as he is a Rocket I cheer for him. And any other player on the team.

Maybe it's the higher cost in Canada and less number of people...

I suggest you see www.jeremylin.net/ and see how much hate there is for our team there. It's mind boggoling.
