They are literally still gloating that they are the only team to beat the Heat in a 7 game series in the playoffs. Problem is...that was years ago
That's actually a fairly solid team. Maybe they will be a first round exit, but I think it's a tough matchup for any team. Dirk doesn't use a lot of athleticism, he just need to be a non stiff 7 footer with an unblockable shot.
That is a lot. I like Wright quite a bit actually, but there's no way that was the market value for a guy who couldn't wrest minutes away from Elton Brand and Chris Kaman. The guy's efficient, but he's also a member of the Jim McIlvane Club for big men who don't really score, rebound, OR pass.
Cuban had a well stocked roster when he bought the team, and he has had Dirk the whole time he has been there. We have yet to see what he can do starting from scratch.
I don't think anybody is denying that. But he did change the roster immediately and they were a below .500 team when he bought them. Also remember that the Francis/Mobley and Yao/Tmac teams were built to compete for championships. I'm not talking about injuries/missing playoffs. I'm trying to get at putting together a good team in a relatively short period of time.
Is this a Gersson Rosas move?! How the hell is that 2nd year not a team option? I am not liking this Dallas roster at all. Dirk is going to need to have another MVP-like year.
VC, Calderon, Marion, MEllis and Sammy D are scrubs? A couple may be past their prime... but scrubs? Bet ya wouldn't be sayin that if any of those 5 were suiting up for us....
There is no doubt that the rockets have improved this off-season, but I think many rockets fans are going to be disappointed when the rockets are fighting for the 6th/7th seed rather than the 2nd or 1st seed. The west is loaded and dwight alone won't get you to the top 3 seeds, that's the sad fact. Don't be surprised if your team struggles in the west.
I know most people know this but let me point it out. He is supposed to be the back up center/PF right? Why is he making more on the bench than Dally? That's kinda weird. Also Asik = $8 million, Wright = $5 million? Cuban is really trying to copy Morey in taking a shot on a big. Not a bad deal bc of length, but really?
brandon wright had a breakout season last year, so yeah the mavs wanted to sign him to a bigger deal. It only makes sense.
