What exactly is the harm in trying? It's not your money!

Guys like Reggie Williams -- a 37% shooter from 3 who couldn't regularly crack the rotation in Charlotte -- are available all the time. That's why he's basically making the minimum. If the Rockets sign Miller and he gets hurt, they can replace him whenever with a Williams-caliber player. If the Rockets sign Miller and he plays like he did in the NBA Finals, you've upgraded a part of your rotation.

There's upside to the move and zero legitimate downside.

    Lin/Beverly/Brooks/Canaan
    Harden/Garcia/Williams
    Parsons/Miller/Casspi
    Montiejunas/Jones/Smith
    Howard/Asik

They don't have to cut Williams if the Rockets think he has value or potential, nor do they have to cut Casspi. Substitute Covington in for Casspi maybe if he plays well in camp. They can make the roster work. They may also want to trade Greg Smith who knows. Might cut Brooks.

The people worrying about Miller costing someone worthwhile a job are reaching.

A stretch in the playoffs shooting 13/14 from deep

    The poster what

I still remember him bragging about Memphis and how it was a better city than Houston.

Yeah, I'm just using Williams as an example because he plays Miller's positions and it blows my mind how confident people are in a guy who couldn't regularly play for the Bobcats. That said, if Reggie performs well, there are certainly other guys that could go instead. Bottom line: the upside of an even somewhat-healthy Mike Miller is superior to the downside of losing the 15th-best player on the Houston roster, whoever it may be. It's bizarre that anyone would argue otherwise.

I just don't see Dmo starting before TJones, however, training camp will sort this out though

If he's looking for the best chance to win another ring, it's Houston. But like you said, Memphis is a good team and it might be where he feels most comfortable.

Who on the 2009 Magic even APPROACHED the talent of James Harden? People keep saying that, but other than getting some good shooters, what about this team is similar to that 2009 Orlando team?? If you have a great center, then you OBVIOUSLY need to get shooters. That's about as cut and dry as it gets.

Are the Grizzlies/Miller waiting on Nick Calathes? If Calathes signs with Memphis would it mean no spot for Miller?

Exactly. I wouldn't care if he didn't even play for the first half of the season or even until March for that matter. I just want him healthy, and ready to contribute for the latter part of the season when we're battling for playoff positioning and of course our Championship run.

Not surprising that Miller is leaning Memphis. I'm sure they offered part of the Mid-Level.

Damn, I would have loved him in a Rockets uniform. Oh well, that was always a long shot anyways. This just makes the Francisco Garcia signing that much sweeter. Now, getting Camby is far more realistic, and honestly, much more necessary.

Crucial signing for the Grizz - they need him the most. Wouldn't even be surprised if he even ends up starting - the Grizzlies need outside shooting THAT much.
