I was glad Debra was finally cleaning up, but the ending makes me think their relationship is going to be off and on till the last episode. Def liked the what if moment showing her killing dexter. If she was destroyed after killing lageuerta it seems possible she would have really gone over the edge over that.
Dexter also has the trifecta of crutches: flashbacks, interior monologue, and imaginary friends (his dad). Only worse thing they could do is have him talk into the camera directly to the audience like some shows do.
Great season opener! Acting and feel is on par again! stop being downers ppl this is interesting finally!
I don't get it, he displayed all these three things from the beginning of the first season and they were a part of him throughout all seasons.
Sarcasm. It's funny that someone would trash a show in its 8th season for something they've been doing since S: 1, E: 1. What I do when I watch a show I think is stupid? I stop watching.
Was confused two people would b**ch about something vital to the show. Yea, it's confusing he still watches Dexter but finds something annoying is a huge part of Dexter from day 1.
a big let down so far. im tired of deb's issue. get over it. stop spending the whole season on her. jeez.
I love how about 75% of the responses in Dexter threads are critical of the show. It's the same whining and b*tching season after season yet no one will admit they are a closet fan of the series!
I'm wondering what's up with Hannah McKay. I can't see her not being involved in some way considering how the last season ended. Thoughts?
She's supposed to return this season. Who knows when. So far, this season has been ho hum. I expected more fall out after last season's cliffhanger, but it certainly hasn't been as much drama as desired out of a final season. It hasn't been bad. But it hasn't been great. I hope it ramps up soon.
Spoiler I predict Dexter gets involved with the hot neighbor, and in comes Hannah McKay and kills her or something out of jealousy idk....but I bet the two of them have an interaction.
I think it is about curiosity of how these characters will turn out and hope that the show will somehow recapture the greatness of seasons 1,2 and even 3 (let's be real, Trinity season is where **** got really stupid). I still watch the show but now I DVR and watch when I can but it is pretty much an expected disaster episode after episode. My lady and I watch it more for laughs than anything. The cleverness of the show is gone and the feeling I get is everyone involved has been mailing it in for a while. I think they know the majority of the American public (including fans of the show) are idiots that once hooked, are incapable of admitting (or realizing?) how bad the show has become. I would love someone to watch season one or two and then immediately watch this season and say with a straight face that the quality of the show has not gone to ****.
The season with the Trinity killer was my favorite one of all. There were plenty of twists with the killer's daughter, and the season finale was a huge shock of the kind that doesn't happen that often in television. Also John Lithgow was amazing. He's a fantastic actor and added a lot to it. The season after was pretty bad, and I almost didn't come back to the show. But it got better. I don't think any season has matched the Trinity Killer though. That said, even season that aren't as good are still better than most shows on television, and are still good. They just aren't as good.
