Got to hand it to Ash... really pressing Luhnow about how young players create excitement for the major league fans, and why is Springer not up here yet.

Luhnow said he wanted them down there about another month... and when he comes up he's here to stay.

With Springer I really think it is about the 40 man, if there isn't a spot right now but with a trade there will likely be one soon, no reason to push it

Ash has been at it from the outset tonight... commented about the ovation for Villar before his first AB, and how it should be a signal to the team on the excitement it generates. Love it.

    I know... it is.

If they can't get rid of more guys by the trade deadline, they'll have to wait till September.

A very Astros like play by the A's.

Did Carter cross home before Maxwell was nearly thrown out in 2nd? That could have gone very badly for us.

I don't think he did. Would have been an out at 2nd and no run.

There are times that Dallas looks like a legit major league pitcher. He has the "stuff" to succeed as a lefty in a major league rotation, just can't get any consistency

Chapman. Stoffel. Peacock. I don't care. Just get rid of the current pen. Overreaction? Probably. But I am just tired of watching this outside of Veras and Cisnero.

Attaboy Wesley... way to keep the Rangers in second place.

Also this will give the A's a false sense of confidence once the Astros are good again... after all, we may not win a single game against them all season.

I think Keuchel is pretty consistent. Bud & Harrell are inconsistent. Keuchel is just consistently mediocre. If we were good, that would provide a lot more value by keeping most of his starts close.

He looked fine. Made the routine plays. Made one play on the other side of the bag and threw a perfect ball to 1st while moving. Probably his best defensive play of the night. No spectacular plays (on defense).

Our best AAA players are going to be just as good, if not better, than the guys we have up here right now.

We are fielding a AAA-AAAA team. Out of all our players, maybe only Castro can make a case that he wouldn't have to be in the minors on most other organizations.
