They went a full decade missing the playoffs before Dirk, and Dirk's on his way out. If they keep whiffing on superstars to take his place, it could easily happen again.
Screw the Mavs; they could honestly be one of the most boring teams in the NBA. Their owner clears cap space and gets one year contracts to miss the playoffs. Then he whiffs on big FA's last year and this year and he signs Ellis and Calderon?
Calderon 31 Ellis 27 Carter 36, Dirk 35, Sam 32 Shawn Marion 35 That's a grandpa frontcourt. How do they get up and down with: Parsons 25, Terrence Jones 21 and DHow 27?
Mavs and Lakers may win a game, or two in the regular season, but in a 7 game series, they are exposed and done.
let our killer bench finish them Beverley, Brooks Garcia Casspi Dmo/Greg Omer Those are starting material
Dallas have what it takes to be a playoff team, only an injury to dirk would stop that Look at their record last year and check out how many games dirk missed They would have beaten us out for a spot I'm not saying they're better than Houston, but can't really trash them after one unhealthy season
Pretty much. Every year they think the Cowboys are one of the best teams in the NFL...I can't even remember the last time Dem Boys made the playoffs.
Well, Houston hasn't hasn't had a chance to show what they can do with this line up - it might be, that adding Hiward doesn't work, that something will kill our chemistry and we take a step backwards. That's what LA and Dallas count on because they don't like us and we got what they wanted. Having said that, most analysts put us in the mix of the top 4 teams of the conference. We were the youngest team in the league and we just added the most dominant big man. The jury is still out on how good we will be - but right now our future looks a 100 times better than either LAs or Dallas.
