    Neato

I was wondering the progress of this

Itll probably be more flashier from the original (THOUGH WITH THE SAME CORE CONCEPTS probably)

Its how it has to be on Fox and for a wide audience

Love just hearing Carl Sagan's voice again. So distinct.
And I really like Neil deGrasse Tyson and his passion. I agree with Shroopy that it seems a little too flashy but I do look forward to it. There's already How to Universe Works and a bunch of other great shows out there. I hope it brings something new.

I was sooo excited to watch this trailer after seeing everyone posting it in the FB and talking about it.

Then I watched the trailer and thought it was the cheesiest thing evaaar and lost all interest. Am I the only one who had this reaction?

I'm still not sure what the show is about exactly. Was that an alien spaceship? Aliens?!?!

It's a sequel to the original. It's a documentary series.

It looks OK and being a nerd will probably watch it. When Cosmos originally appeared it was revolutionary but there are now so many shows such as The Universe that have copied Cosmos' formula so I am not sure how different this show will stand out.

From the looks of it, it's mostly about Neil deGrasse Tyson....
I'll cast my final judgement after I watch it.

(P.S) LOL....SwoLy, Cosmo Kramer? We 're talking about space!

I am very happy about this, and bravo to FOX for attempting it.

As for flash, the original series was very flashy for its time and there was a lot of criticism for Carl Sagan from within the astrophysics/astronomy community. I remember my physics profs insulting some of his treatments of relativity (for instance) and making fun of his spaceships.

But they lost sight of the great good it did in explaining many of the wonders and the basics to a non-scientific audience.

I am a big fan of NdGT, and he's the perfect person to push into a new generation of the show. My trust in him is perhaps too great, but I think he'll steer the show towards real content, with the flashy graphics just making it a little more entertaining (instead of messing up the science).

Most of those shows are on non major networks with lower budgets.

This is is risky for Fox, so kudos to them.

Not sure what y'all wanted in a trailer for Cosmos II... A bunch of equations? A static shot of NdGT in front of a curtain explaining black hole thermodynamics to the camera?

Could have been soooo much worse with someone like Brian Greene.
