LOL Derryll lost half of his office. Can't blame them, they know the formula and clubs are giving out big money for that knowledge. I hope Murray didn't give out all his tricks.
This sucks but new blood is always a good thing too. Keeps people hungry. I'm sure there are a few MIT nerds salivating for a job.
I think it's good. It's a testament to our front office. We'll bring up new guys to fill their shoes, so we won't hurt too much.
taking these GM opportunities increased their pay substantially. NO way they couldn't accept the position.
Guys not to be the negative nancy here.. but losing rosas and hinkie is huge. I heard morey himself talk specifically about these two guys multiple times when talking about trade dead line deals. Such as the lowry deal and the robinson deal. I am not sure about the harden deal but maybe. He basically was saying that he said that certain front office managers work with certain teams because of industry relationships etc etc... that most of the trade negotiation begins with those specific people like hinkie and rosas then morey steps in to close the deal/authorize. I don't know how many big trades have came directly from their hand, but the way he talked in those interviews it was a lot. The kings specifically one of those guys worked with and was why the relationship was so good. So that when t-rob was going to be traded we got to scoop in and steal him. We all saw that with the kings...soo many trades back and forth...dropping brooks and us signing him...things like that. I think this hurts, and unless Morey can make some very good replacement hires...I think our ability to pull off some of these lopsided trades might have vanished. I really feel the reason we were so good at trades...(many gms have been quoted saying that we are annoying how much we call about countless scenarios on draft night)... i think we are going to lose a lot of that. : /
