only like 5 stars, mostly role players this isn't the team USA will put out in the next olympics is it?
Starting 5 from this group.. Cousins/Sanders Anderson/Davis George/Parsons Thompson/Holliday Irving/Lawson
2014 Basketball World Cup in Spain, but it's not the official roster, just a bunch of possible players. Also excluding other players who already played and could get re-invited i.e. Stephen Curry and Kevin Love for both the World Cup and Olympics in 2016. http://www.fiba.com/spain2014
Man, with this line up it is not entirely impossible for other teams to kick team USA's behind. If team USA does win, I expect a tough semi finals and finals appearance against Team Spain, who'll have HomeCourt.
Kenny Thomas averaged a double-double 1 year. NBA's had some bad contracts, but he didnt get paid $7 mil a season for nothing. I like Chandler Parsons. Parsons had a very good playoffs series and some inflated fast paced stats. He's very good but he's not ALL that, yet. Of the 29 players on the USA roster, I'd put the bolded comfortably ahead or even with Parsons. Guys who you'd trade Parsons to get and feel you've made a good trade: Some unmarked players like Harrison Barnes and Kidd-Gilchrist have higher upside than Parsons (Klay Thompson I think is overrated, but people see him as a budding star) Thats almost 2/3 of the list better or as good as Parsons. Maybe 4 of those are max players (Irving, Wall, A Davis, Cousins). Meaning Parsons better be getting a contract under $10 mil a year. Anything past that is too much
Parsons is one of 2 players not picked in the first round. Excluding college players on the list of course. (They will be 1st round picks next year in my opinion anyway). The other player being Deandre Jordan.
No this seems to be the confusion here. If Derrick Rose, Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant, Kevin Love, Stephen Curry, James Harden, or other previous players who have already played for Team USA want to play, they'll be there. Team USA can always invite players who have breakout seasons next year as well.
Easy Gold again. International basketball is dieing rapidly. Spain and Argentina are not the same teams of 2006-2008. I don't see any threat to USA in basketball for the next 5 years. Maybe Canada could become a player with Wiggins but even then we would still have the top tier talent.
Recruitment time! Get it done, Chandler: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Pumped to start the first day of <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23USABMNT&src=hash">#USABMNT</a> Mini Camp</p>— Ryan Anderson (@ryananderson33) <a href="https://twitter.com/ryananderson33/statuses/359379932863938561">July 22, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
