KMart brings some much needed toughness on defense for Minnesota.

During the regular season and playoffs, K-Mart nearly always disappeared when OKC needed him the most. He padded his stats during easy wins and against soft teams. WB's presence or absence had nothing to do with it.

K-Mart is the kind of player that a contender can't afford to pay but will help a borderline team like Minnesota.

Sounds like Kevin Martin is going to show the world that he's on Durant's level.

I get that Kevin is a decent and hardworking guy but tough and defender he is not.

Kmart is a system player, adelman is a system coach, the twolves are a system team, they will be successful because adelman has players that fit his system.
kmart couldnt be successful with okc because they have no system and scott brooks is a **** coach who asked kmart to create and free roam, something which hes not especially good at.

kmart was pretty good in OKC coming off the bench as the 6th man
You look at 14-15 pts instant offense

He isn't very clutch in the 4th, we all know that.

Thats only because defenses got tougher and when you have no gameplan to rely on, players with limited playmaking abilities will fail. With adelman thats not going to happen.

He did surprisingly well in a role that wasnt best suited for him, however as A3p0 mentioned that was mostly against weak opponents in the regular season
He isnt clutch because he rarely gets good looks at the end of games since defenses focus on him more, but with a coach designing plays that get him open looks he will shoot his regular % regardless of game situations...
He is not exactly a closer in the kobe bryant iso sense of the word. It is the coaches fault to put him in an iso situation

Lol OK. I can't help Brooks if he thinks Kevin Martin is an Iso player. Even Nate is more clutch.

OKC didn't want him back. It was not his decision.

In a general sense, you are correct. But during the regular season and playoffs, K-Mart missed a boatload of open shots against tough teams in key situations. It wasn't so much because of coach Bonehead's basic playground offensive system. K-Mart was an unreliable choker in crunch time.

    Nice guy, mentally weak.

He's made nearly $60M in his career, so its possible he would have given consideration to a lesser offer. Ultimately though this is likely his last chance to cash in, and he would have a hard time not doing so. Next FA is when he has to start thinking about going title chasing.

"Let me put it to you this way," said Kevin Martin to this reporter. "All I do is shoot. I play defense like your grandmother. I'm lucky to play a full season because I'm made of crystal; they should have figurines of me on the shelves in knickknack shops.

"Now, the Thunder offered me about $4,000,000 a year for three years. That comes with the pressure of actually having to play for something. They're gunning for a championship.

"Then my old coach, the one guy who gets me, comes along and says, 'I convinced these guys to pay you'. Turns out to be nearly $30,000,000 over four years. 'And just do what you do', says Coach Adelman. 'Shoot some threes, then sit on the bench. Can you do that?'

"So I said to Coach, 'Cha-ching, mo money, mo money, mo money'. With that kind of cheddar I can buy a nice thick coat for those Minnesota winters."

EDIT: From comments I received, maybe I should say, it's a fake link, which I thought would make clear that I was making this up.

Ehh, I would put both those teams under the "not winning an NBA title in the 2013-2014 season." They are similar in the matter.

i beg to differ. with adelman he still had the same problem. Changing coaches isn't going to improve his skillset.
