Its pretty crazy looking back at these old NBA player rankings in 2011 Dwight Howard was the second rated player in the NBA http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/7116954/nba-player-rankings-2 2012 he was the third ranked player.... and last year with him being "so awful" he was ranked 11. Harden was at 8. Its pretty un-real how people think this guy just lost all of his talent like that (outside the Houston area)...the dude was in a bad situation in LA, and as he says, he didn't choose to go there. Houston was his choice. I think we are getting a top 3 player in the game. and on top of that, he has just now hit his prime NBA years. Harden and Howard, as Ive told all of my friends since the day we got him, will EASILY be the best duo in the NBA

Completely agree. Also, a couple funny comments: Daniel Thompson @CakeMkrDan @NBAonESPN Omer Asik will be missed for his defensive prowess & rebounding efficiency, but not for the offer sheet he signed. #NBArank Brett Regan @brettregan Will somebody please explain to me as to why Chandler Parsons and Mbah a Moute are rated higher than Michael Beasley? Really, why? #NBARank
Lebron/Wade next year is going to be something like #1 / #12 (watching that Finals, I am convinced Wade spent the last of the cartilage in his knee getting that win). Durant/Westbrook will be #2 / #9 or so. Howard/Harden will be #4 / #7. The biggest bonus with our duo is that they just align sooo much better with each other. There's genuine synergy there, because the other duos are both a bit redundant in terms of their scoring ability and need for the ball. The only other duos in the league that theoretically should mesh like ours does are Paul/Blake (#3 / #18 if I had to rank) and Parker/Duncan (#8 / #15 since we're talking regular season). I totally just made that ranking system up, but you get the point. Our duo has the potentialto be the best in the NBA next year.
for now, i would put Duncan and Parker above Ho/Ha as well and I think we are about tied with Blake and Chris Paul howard is better than Blake chris paul is much better than Harden
This makes sense. If (big if) Dwight is healthy, he is clearly a top 5 player, probably only behind LeBron and KD. If he delivers and Harden improves also (which I definitely expect), Rockets are legit championship contenders if the PG and PF positions are serviceable.
To be fair, it was prior to this year. Asik hadn't played more than 10-15mpg as a backup and Beasley was coming off a great season while Parsons was entering his sophomore year.
I dunno about that, those other two duo's certainly have better #1 guys, but their #2's are fairly weak. I think Howard/Harden is superior to the others because both guys are arguably top 10 guys, Westbrick isn't and Wade isn't anymore.
