Houston is ghetto as hell. There are pockets of nice areas (rice, river oaks, midtown, memorial, etc) and the suburbs, but large chunks of houston look shady. East of I45 is a waste land. North of downtown is ghetto. 288 sound of downtown is one of the most dangerous places in country so is the area around UH. I am guessing most people on this board live in the suburbs like sugar land, clear lake, kingwood, etc., but most of actual houston is not that nice.

Lol either you're really white or youre really afraid of lower income neighborhoods. What do you want? A huge ****in suburb?

LA and parts of NYC are mostly the same, just more "zoned" offf. The same pockets of good areas surrounded by heaps of grimey areas. Some of the newer decent areas there is from "gentrification", just upconverting slummy areas into more liveable (and of course driving up the property costs for the poorer people and they have no choice but to find some patches of affordable projects to live in). As long as there's the income inequality the way it is now, its how it will be for a while. Some cities like Detroit will have massive flight and be left to decay, other cities and metro areas like in Texas will expand and be nicer.

Yeah it is too bad sick treatment of people like this has to exist in our "civilized" society.

I go to plenty of games. I am not scared of the shady areas. I was simply responding to the fact that the poster thought houston was like sugarland or woodlands. It isn't the suburbs.

they don't have to mob nonstop like other cities to get by. Low cost of living ftw.

I actually think this could become a common thing. It's not unreasonable to want to know where your children are in an emergency.
