Nice try dumba$$. Check out my posts from two months ago comparing Duncan to Hakeem... Or my posts comparing DMo and TRob during the season... So what you didn't read all my 700+ posts? Mchale is one of my all time favorite players. Sorry guys he stinks as a coach... That has no bearing on his HOF career though does it? Why would I deny joining CF because of Lin? Why would this team at the start of training camp last year have any new fans? This was projected to be a lottery team prior to Harden's arrival... And speaking of Harden, check out my posts about his trade to Houston while many of you thought he wasn't a MAX player.
"Jeremy Lin is a good person, but I don't think he is a very good player". See the logic? I think he is a good player just in case someone gets sensitive.
This is easy: When your starting point guard is being outplayed by EVERY SINGLE backup guard on the roster, there is going to be some concern. Toney Douglas finished games because Jeremy's defense wasn't up for the task, nor was his shooting. Same with Patrick Beverly. He was able to get to the paint more easily, score more effectively than Jeremy, but more importantly, he showed TENACITY every minute he was on the floor. I'm sure you've seen the times that he went up for rebounds with the bigs without fear. Shoot, at times, even Carlos Delfino was more efficient at penetrating the lane or setting someone else up for an easy bucket. Jeremy Lin is a great guy, but as a point guard in the NBA, he is hovering around average or slightly above. His age works in his favor, and I hope he improves. But...just because we criticize Lin based on his basketball capabilities, we aren't "hating." Nor do we owe him any more time/opportunities than any other player on the roster, just because of his strong following. Jeremy Lin was somewhat outplayed this season by Toney Douglas and Patrick Beverly, maybe not on the stat sheet, but on individual play or game outcomes. Yes, Lin had some GREAT games, but he was never consistent. From one game to the next, you didn't know what he was going to give you. I have a feeling that his summer work will pay off for this upcoming season, and I think he is motivated to finish out games instead of the guys who back him up. Maybe that's a good thing. I don't know of many starting PGs that don't finish games...Andre Miller, maybe? And, for once, this has nothing to do with McHale's mediocre coaching. (Believe me, if it were about Kevin's kindergarten playbook, I'd be all over it.) He could obviously see Pat Beverly/TD producing positive outcomes in crunchtime that Jeremy struggled with.
If Lin can turn into a Van Excel type player then he will be perfect...I like V A when he played for the Lakers, played his roll and did it successfully among superstars. That's what we need in Lins play .
why don't u join these buggers, lots of fun there http://www.talk-sports.net/nba/sucks.aspx/Jeremy_Lin
