They all are friends on this team. Parsons obviously is a good contract to have but he is not untouchable. Come on.

What id prefer to see is a sustainable roster that doesn't have to sell off pieces (ala OKC) in order to stay within its financial bounds.

i have a gut feeling that LA could be trade to OKC. They have draft picks, young players and can center the trade around Ibaka.

LA would be a huge upgrade over Ibaka and can fill the void left from the Harden trade.

OKC would be an instant contender with a trio of WB, KD and LA . They can still amnesty Perkins after.

He's saying your % numbers are dumb because there are only two possible outcomes in this context: He comes to the Rockets, or he doesn't come to the Rockets. Thus, 50/50 "odds".

He's making a point that the use of % to predict where players go is, by definition, useless.

Parsons is not going anywhere anytime soon. Anyone who thinks otherwise has not been paying much attention.

Lakers did it in the old days, when paying the luxury tax is more affordable and every single contender (LA, Boston, Dallas) paid the tax. Now it's not a 1 dollar penalty, after a certain threshold you pay 2-3 dollars penalty.

If you want a new benchmark for the tax Miami amnestied Miller and his 7M salary to save around 16M in luxury tax. And this is with a big 3 that signed less than the max. I dunno about Harden's contract but we're already paying howard 20M, which is 5M more than what Miami paid each of their superstars.

So do you expect Alexander to pay 24M (8M+tax) for Chandler Parsons? I certainly don't think so.

Why wouldn't he? Let's understand something about billionaires who are in senior citizen territory. Some just want to go out with a bang.

Not saying Les is on his death bed, but maybe this sense of urgency is so that he can raise the value of the franchise in order to sell it. I would go out on a limb to say Les Alexander will no longer own the team by the year 2023.

So F it. LMA, come on down to Houston.

He's the guy who just went out of his way to convince DH to come to Houston. What kind of message will it send to the other players? Don't bust your ass for the Rox, that team will trade you first chance it gets? Plus, DH only signed for 3 years, if we trade away the guy that convinced him to come to Houston he might walk away after his option comes up.

Don't be dumb like the rest of these "well, if you just throw in Parsons, you'll get XYZ player". No, he's not untouchable. But even Morey knows there's a certain point where you quit throwing players away.

Morey won't include him for a lesser All Star type like Aldridge. Parsons would have to go with Asik to get LaMarcus Aldridge. A really good young center and a 15 ppg, just to get a guy who can be called "All Star"?

The kind of All Star that would lose Parsons is not the type of player who'd be available anyway.

Parsons makes less than a million, gets 15-ish points, 3 or 4 assists, shoots threes. Wave good-bye to that and a top 5 center in order to get 18 points, 8 boards, 1 block LMA? I want LMA, too, but not for a ridiculous price.

If anyone's up for grabs, it's, of course, Asik and/or Lin. Maybe one of Dmo or Tjones.

They'd trade Batum for Parsons in a heartbeat. Batum makes $11 million a year. It's a ridiculous contract and they were out of their mind for giving that to him. Batum does have the higher upside and is probably a little better... But this isn't nba2k. Salary matters

If it was for another friend of Dwight Howard, Howard won't be unhappy at the very least.
Someone like his childhood friend Josh Smith or Randall Morris but that guy is playing in China. for example

You have been saying the same things I touched upon with labeling him not 'untouchable'.
You have your options and only trade him when he signs a new contract after two years. (If he is an Allstar by then, you might keep him for good)

If not, then the game starts anew.

Good example. Oh, wait, wasn't J-Smoove an FA with an (apparent) ability
to get to TheToyShop with his childhood friend, D12?

Let's not use examples that are not examples of anything but the opposite of what you think.

Batum better than Parson's? What does he do better besides block shots.

So you know what I think? It's important what Portland thinks. Why is everyone scared that Portland might be into Parsons?
They could be not interested at all.

If y'all think we should be grateful to Parsons for recruiting DHO then offer him an assistant job or a job in the FO after his retirement but don't make him untouchable for a long period.

can we trade Harden/Asik for Lamarcus, Hilliard and Batum?

    Dwight
    Lamarcus
    Batum/Parsons
    Lin
    Hilliard

I think we can win the championship with this team
