i dunno, man, i thought DWade was an all-star. not in the finals, but without the injury that he struggles with, the dude is undoubtedly an all-star.

they had a lot of good pieces. they don't win the ring without Ray Allen. but i get your point, without Lebron, they don't make it to the Easter Conf Finals for sure.

Melo would be a pretty good third star too. Good shooter, lacking some D... good PnR guy
Don't know if Parsons would be willing to come off the bench, but that's very very solid.

Why do I get the feeling that if we had 5 stars, we'd see a thread saying "Morey should get a 6th star because our stars aren't Lebron James?"

No Parsons will not be an all-star next season. Will he contribute significantly to the Rockets? Absolutely.

Meh. I normally love your posts. But this one completely misses the mark. The realities of the new CBA dictate that a championship team has one franchise player at $20M 3 all-stars at $10-$12 M and 5 good role players at $4M. The days of 3 franchise players on a team is over. Sorry dude. You have it wrong.

Howard and Harden aren't LeBron and Durant is true but we are talking about as close as you can get. Remember, Durant didn't get out of the second round this year because Westbrook was injured AND there was no James Harden either. Durant can't do it alone. I think having a 3 headed monster DEFINITELY increases your odds for weathering the storms of the playoffs but it doesn't mean its a guarantee your in the finals either. Houston had two big 3's when we had Olajuwon and we didn't get to the finals then. Two stars, a strong supporting cast and excellent coaching can get it done too. (Olajuwon and Drexler; Shaq and Kobe; Jordan and Pippen; etc.)

I think Morey has gone away from getting punks/thugs on the team.

I see this as a high possibility. I see him averaging really close to 20 points per game.

It is not easy to make an NBA All Star team. Stephon Curry didn't even make it last year. There are always numerous quality players left off.

I think Parsons is just a notch below All Star level. That's not bad, but I just don't think he will reach that level.

And chances are BOTH Harden and Howard will be on the team in the West, making a "3rd all star" spot even more difficult via the "coaches selection."

I personally find the whole "role player for decent money" thing to be pretty pointless given Morey's talent judgement. I mean, do you think you can find a player for $4mil that provides an upgrade for Beverley? Would you rather pay Millsap($9mil), Jack($6mil) or Aldridge($15mil) and Beverley($1mil)?

Role players are getting paid ridiculous money these days. If you're not drafting well or sifting through the bargain bin, you are paying guys like Kyle Korver $5-6mil//yr.
