Why do you want to live with a female in a basement for 10 years? I would rather give her $5mil to get out if she is always in the basement for no points. Sigh, Kids ....

I would be using 35 points, so I'd get $5 million. I'm choosing under the assumption that the Internet option does not include a computer.

Hygiene (3 points)-I wouldn't want to come out of the basement not having used soap or shampoo for 10 years.

Mayo Clinic Doctor (3 points)-I could get sick or get hurt. I wouldn't want to be without any medical treatment. This doctor is also my only source of human interaction.

Library (4 points)-I can gain knowledge from the books and read for my own amusement.

Kitchen (6 points)-If I'm going to be stuck in a basement for 10 years, I might as well learn how to cook. Who wouldn't want to have access to all the finest ingredients in the world?

Workshop (6 points)-I might as welll learn how to be handy as well. With this and the library, I can attempt to make a lot of things that could be useful in the future.

Puppy (6 points)-I've always wanted a dog, and human interaction costs too much.

Stocks (7 points)-The most important option of them all. Money depreciates over time, so I want my money up front. Plus, if I have the opportunity to make more money, why wouldn't I? I can get all the hot 18 year old girls when I get out if I have hundreds of millions of dollars.

(3) Hygiene products - can't imagine not having soap/toothpaste for a decade
(18) lady friend - companion, exercise, way to vent, and the obvious hormonal drive
(2) medical care - **** happens (like cavities at a minimum) and would be another person that can be a sounding board.
(2) microwave meals - enough vegetables and other foods for this to give a big enough variety to not go crazy
(6) computer - pre req for below
(4) video games - at a minimum could be used to play chess or mindless games like tetris, but games have become more and more about storytelling, that I could skip movies/tv shows. sports/final fantasy/civilization/gta's/zelda games... i do not even know if i could get through a decade of games, especially since you get newer games as well.

Can this happen, please?

 

Some of this has some cheats

Girl 18. She can get preggers. Some annoying toddlers later for distraction

LIBARRY 4. Invaluable really

Cell Phone 3. This is a cheat. It just says activated once a week. Will assume a smart phone more than just call, or all thatd be needed is a land line. If it has even basic gsm id stream and download off that 1 day, load it up with apps and games, podcasts, whatever for offline use.

Sunlight 2

Microwave meals 2. Any food any kind just microwaved.

Dr 2. for health and occassional company

Garden 2. Ill grow my own aloes for hygiene. If it allows food seeds definitely growing veggies and fruits

Train set 2. Id have enough podcasts from the phone cheat. This were it can allow for some mad brainy artistic creativity and can get "lost" in thought. And building train bridges to nowhere

 

After 10 years, I'll probably buy an island and a shopping mall here in my country. :grin:

 

If the premise is that you willingly enter the basement then I wouldn't go. I am not that money oriented.

If you are forced into the basement and can only make your confinement more comfortable I take the Kitchen, Library, Mayo Doctor,TV, Cell Phone and Immediate money access.

I need the cell phone because my mom is getting up there and I need immediate access to the money to make sure she is well cared for. I will workout without equipment. I assume I can keep myself clean enough to stay healthy with the dish soap and sink. I would see if I could use my phone to get in touch with professors for assignments and work on finishing my masters (would using my trash chute to smuggle out papers be cheating).

If not I would still use my library to get a really broad based education.

I couldn't see subjecting a girl or even a kitten to this kind of confinement just for my pleasure.

Yeah, most people would opt not to do it. But that's beside the point; the point is it's interesting to see what people pick if you're forced into it.
