Those weaknesses were already exploited during his 2009-2010 season which was a good season for him on the Rockets. He then played about 4 3/4 games before injury next season. He shot well from behind the three point line. He got to FT line decent for the few 2 point FGAs he had. The NBA didn't make him a bad player. In those 5 games. Curry and Ellis destroyed him. He destroyed Fisher. Chris Paul was Chris Paul. Parker had a better than average game for himself. Billups played a worse than average game for himself. So basically, on average he did what he normally did....He was a decent scoring threat that was a moderate defensive weakness. Nothing in those games show that the NBA magically found a way to expose those weaknesses further before his injury. The NBA didn't expose a weakness worse than it already did. He is just a worse player now that is a severe defensive weakness with just a spark of his former scoring punch. I don't think NBA coaches game planned last season to expose Brooks' weaknesses in case he was brought into a game. On the extension SNAFU, Morey does not extend a decent scoring threat that was a moderate defensive weakness. Morey definitely does not extend a decent scoring threat that was a moderate defensive weakness when his 7-6 rim protector is broken.

Several things about AB. 1) He has a knack for feeding the post, particularly helping Yao deal with fronting defenses. This does not seem to be Lin's game. 2) Having a defensive big like DH12 to funnel toward will mask some of his defensive liabilities. 3) Given minutes he can shoot. 4) Has a history of raising his game to the occasion in the playoffs. 5) Likely to overperform his contract. IMO, this makes it possible to shift Lin and his money for a upgrade at PF. No hate to Jeremy, but its easier to find bargain talent at 1 than at 4.
About the first ten pages were about whether Brooks twitter account was hacked or not(and whether or not the Rockets really re-signed him), then the middle was about Lin & trade talk, then about the last ten were about basketballholic. Maybe a slight exaggeration, ha, but you get the point.
Wow. The AB story broke and it has been around 12 hours and we have a 38 page thread? WTF!? Props to J.R. on that audio. Welcome back A.B. MOAR point guards!
AB sucked at feeding the post. Bill Worrell was always complaining about how he threw bounce passes below Yao's knees because AB was undersized and could not throw over his defender. Lin has not fed the post because the Rockets do not feed the post and hasn't had anyone worth feeding often in the post. Is he gonna feed Omer Asik posting up?
I think this thread has taken off for 2 reasons: 1) General excitement about our team 2) Perhaps the purpose of this acquisition is to say goodbye to either Lin or Beverley
That whole team sucked feeding Yao in the post. It was frustrating. AB is really just an under sized shooting guard.
I like Brooks, but this is completely wrong. His ability to give Yao the ball with fronting defenses was one of his weaknesses not his strength. You can say that about any PG. Really... I agree I agree Agreed, but I don't think its realistic given Lin's diminished trade value.
