Can you be Shawnleave? You lack 2 cents in this. In no world is AB better than Lin. And I'm a huge AB fan.
What is most likely is you will continue to deny the facts and what is most likely. LOL we can do this all day long.
I haven't denied anything. I never said he wouldn't be cut. That is certainly a possibility. Him being traded is also POSSIBLE, but it is unlikely due to his bird rights situation and trade veto power. Your arrogance issues already cost you the last user name you used. I wonder if you will get to where you have to run and hide from this one as well? You're a smart poster. It's too bad you can't be smart and analytical without pushing your opinions as facts and treating any counter opinion as stupid.
You just said that just because Brooks can veto a trade doesn't mean he won't be traded. He'll lose out a chance at more money in his career if he doesn't veto.
The Rockets have the best backcourt, shooting guard, guard-center duo, and center in the NBA. That's still not enough to beat the best team in the NBA even with a deep bench. And it may not even be good to be top 5 in the NBA. Who would you rather have?
I don't understand why people are hating on AB: 1) Canaan is not a sure thing. He is a rookie. If one of our PG's gets injured, he would have gotten the backup role on a contender. I'm not entirely sure if anyone should be comfortable with that. 2) AB has proven to work hard from the bottom up, when nothing was given to him and performed in the playoffs before. If he's done it once, why should we doubt him to do it again (esp. with all the Lin hating going around). 3) At worst hes a terrific shooter (particularly spot up shooter) who can bring the ball down the court and set up the offense, or give it to Harden/D12. Isn't that what we are looking for?
What this does is give Morey the ability to trade Lin, or Beverly and still compete with Brooks who is a borderline starting PG in the NBA, and whose game fits very well with a big man...and the inside out scenario. Good move....and if Lin or Bev gets traded, they can sign AB to a reasonable multiyear deal. Morey has always liked what AB brings - and he is way smarter than most of us. DD
Morey covers his bases. He will go after Camby too. Better to have a replacement for an asset than not. It only keeps the leverage in your hands when you trade them and need free agent replacements or trade for one.
Cisco's contract was not picked up but he resigned and he/Rox retained Bird Rights. That was what was said even if I don't understand how. Does that mean that AB/Rox retained Bird in this example, as well? Bima - - calling brighter than I Bima Thug and/or his precocious son - - can you help out on explaining this? Thanks!
unbelievable! If you are happy about Brooks great no need to use it to bash Lin. Lin is seriously unrated at this moment. He is going to stay with the Rockets, unfortunately for the ABJ crowd. So please chill out and talk about other stuff like Dwight playing along with the rest of the team, and his impact. I see Lin benefiting most from his addition.
I didn't start the sordid "lady" and "facts" mess. I simply responded to them. If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen. You can be a part of the problem or a part of the solution. This board is full of guys that don't know their head from a hole in the ground about basketball and all they do is get on here and trash out other well-educated posters. I've seen it happen over and over again. You give them facts and a well thought out interpretation of those facts and they deny, deny, deny. And then they start the kindergarten name-calling routine. Did it to Cyberx. Did it to DocRocket. Both of them posters that I knew had serious information to help us. Ran 'em off. Same ole same ole every day. Most of the time I just let it slide because I really don't care. But today I just decided to throw the drivel back at them. Now you gonna jump in and ride the bandwagon too? Brooks does not have a future here.
the mere fact that Brooks can hit the open 3 makes him a valuable asset for us. Even if he only gets spot minutes, it'll be a good fit. I feel much more confident in Brooks coming in and hitting 3 quick treys in limited minutes than I do with any of our other bench players. That being said, I doubt he'll be in the regular rotation if the roster stays as is.
Did not read the whole thread, so I don't know if this has been noted already: But if AB did sign, then he could add some value to a possible Portland trade package--since AB is well respected in those parts.
You've tried your hardest to be the new Bimathug of the GARM. You're the homeless mentally I'll version of Bimathug.
ROFL. Bless you Dada. You stay firm to your convictions. Still remember all the Lowry/Brooks debates we had. I am amazed that you still think Brooks is "borderline starting PG material" in the NBA. Of all the knowledgable basketball posters I have run into here I have a good degree of confidence in your opinion. Only here we veer sharply. Brooks, without seriously improving his game and dedicating himself to his craft, is a bit player at best in this league.
No I see Lin as expendable even more so. The most important thing is who can play with Harden and Howard. Brooks I see as being just someone that can play with Harden. That is why he is here and Lins days are numbered.
That is just a guess on your part, whether he has a future or not will be determined by the trade deadline and what they do with Beverly and Lin. I am quite confident that Morey would be happy running with Brooks if he can get someone like LMA - Brooks is a solid insurance plan for this season. And gives Morey tons of flexibility. And you are right about folks running good people off, if sucks, TBH. DD
