No trade is imminent. There will be NO trades. Jeremy Lin is a Rocket for life. This is just exactly like the PG situation in the summer of '07 just after we drafted Aaron in the draft. Alston, Francis, Brooks, Head, and yet there was no trade at all. lol.
I guess we will see some 2PG sets when Harden sits. On offense this should be no problem whatsoever, especially since Brooks is a great shooter. I am not sure about defense though with our guys being on the small side - but who knows, everything changes with Dwight - let the small guys guard the perimeter and when they get in the lane let Dwight take care of it... Oh, and welcome back AB!

This thread is at least 15 pages longer than it should have been singlehandedly because of megadon. Take a bow. As far as Aaron goes, the one moment I'll always remember him for is no longer the Lakers playoff game, it's Game 3 from last year. I was there and we looked dead in the water. Aaron came in like a sparkplug and started making things happen immediately. He plays hard and he plays fast, and it was great to see him revive the team a little bit. Obviously we lost the game and he didn't help decide the outcome, but I look to him as the guy who started the climb to get us back into it.
Lin Haters see "AB is coming, Lin is out soon!!!!" non-hater sees "AB is coming, can this be a 3 team trade for LMA?"
I'm starting to think that Lin might be moved to Milwaukee (or even Detroit) as part of a 3 team trade.
Cool. Canaan to D-League, Brooks to 3rd string. I can accept that. Plus, he's a veteran on this team. Good jorb Marry.
What a fighter! AB must remember those days he was playing with Yao. Problem was he couldn't pass the ball to Yao in the post. Since all he was getting was vet minimum offers, he might as well go with the situation he's most familiar with. Besides, he was paid P2.5M last season for a few weeks of work. Hope you can continue to contribute, AB!
Same rotation as last season. Brooks at vet minimum contract is a no brainer. Canaan will help our D-League team win another title. Better to develop rookies there than just sit on the bench on every NBA game.
actually Morey has become addicted to stockpiling players, he just can't quit I think BJ Young (non-guaranteed) may be on the way out of our roster and into the Vipers
The problem isn't the current amount of players we have on the roster, it's the pace with which Morey keeps adding on guys. Come October we might seriously have a legitimate 20 guys invited to camp, with tons of tension likely to be in the air in terms of which minimum vets will actually end up on the squad. Well, probably not, since those contracts are guaranteed. But still, I'm starting to fear for Covington even if Morey keeps adding guys at this rate.
......and with this signing Aaron Brooks has now made up all of the $3.4 million that he lost by accepting a buyout of his contract from the Sacramento Kings a few months ago. As I stated then....there is simply no way that a 27-year-old baller who is just getting back in the league after missing a whole season playing in China who had just signed a 2-yr deal for $6.6 million and was then out of the rotation on one of the worst teams in the league with his basketball future in serious doubt....there is no way that a baller in that career condition walks away from $3.4 million unless he knows he's going to get made whole. Deny it all you want to...but Brooks agreed to a buyout, giving up $3.4 million, because he had a promise from Morey to make him whole. The delay in him signing a contract with us last year, after being bought out, was because he was trying to get his entire $3.4 million back last season. Morey stood firm on $2.4 million with a promise to give him a minimum deal this season if he couldn't get a better contract elsewhere. Brooks scoped out free agency and found no real takers. He says he got offers for a minimum deal elsewhere. I have my doubts about that. There are several teams out there that have better point guard opportunities than the Houston Rockets. If even one of them had offered him a minimum deal where he would have more of an opportunity to jump into the rotation and possibly compete for a starting role he would have signed with them in a heartbeat in order to have an opportunity to put up some big numbers and revitalize his career...which is circling the drain right now. That opportunity didn't manifest itself which tells you Brooks' market value. It's a flat zero. He signed with us because he had a standing offer to make up for the money he lost in the buyout. We were his best option among, at best, a few bad options. And we may have been his only option. He definitely couldn't find a team to give him more than one season at the minimum. You guys that think Brooks' signing purports a trade of Lin...not true. Lin may get traded but it won't be because we signed Brooks. LOL Brooks is the 15th man on this roster and if he doesn't bring something to training camp and earn his spot....don't be surprised if we simply cut him so we can keep somebody else we like better. He's not in the plans here...even if we trade Lin. I'll be surprised if he's still here beyond December 15th. Now he probably will get to come to training camp and be given an opportunity to show the team something. But will he? I doubt it. Brooks has a fatal flaw. His attitude sucks. And he just doesn't get it. His career has been on the downhill slide ever since he lost the starting point guard spot to Lowry and the truth is he was already sliding before that. We kept him as the starter in order to try to maximize his trade value at that time. And there's been no change in that area of his game. He won't D up. He won't play hard. He won't go to the rim and draw contact. He won't swing the ball. He stands around when the ball isn't in his hands. Brooks is only looking to do one thing on the court...get the ball and score it. Every other part of his game is piss poor. And he's not improving. So don't be surprised if he has a short stay. He's not in our future plans. And the only way he will get in to our future plans will be to work his tail off. I don't that's in the cards. (you knew I was coming with this.)
Glad to see Brooks is Back! (If) we are going to be wheeling and dealing soon for Aldridge I think a package of these players would definitely get consideration. Asik..................very good starting center....27yrs old TJones.............#18pick 2013'......SF/PF......21yrs old Beverley.............very good backup pg.........25yrs old Several future picks If three or more teams are involved I think both Asik and Lin come into play. The reason I don't include Lin in the Portland scenario is Lillard isn't going anywhere! ....... ....... .......
