I could see them dealing him by the all star break. Especially if Portland is really bad. Having said that, I don't think that Aldridge will be a Rocket.

Aldridge is a proven commodity and obviously you always seek them out first but I think that we still don't really know what we have with Jones and Motiejunas. I am not saying that they may eventually be on Aldridge's level BUT I do think that Jones could be 75% of what Aldridge is on the offensive end while being twice as good on the defensive end.

    ___________Height____Wingspan____Standing Reach____Vertical____Total Ht.
    Aldridge_____6'11"_______7'4"___________9'2"___________26.5"_____11'4.5"
    Jones_______6'9"________7'2"___________8'11"__________34.5"_____11'9.5"

Aldridge has a clear advantage on experience and offensive development but Jones has a good post game as well and can stretch comfortably out to the 3 point line. In addition, Jones has an extra 5" in defensive height due to his high athleticism and is a much more capable defender as well as shot blocker. If I had to give one up in the trade, I think I would part with D-Mo as he is weaknesses are more in line with Aldridge's and his defense will probably never come close to Jones'. We get far more versatility on the court with Aldridge and Jones than Aldridge and Motiejunas.

You can't be serious. Lin,Bev,Canaan for one of the top 3 PF in the game and Aldridge isn't good enough to give up just those 3 players? Aside from the fact that the Blazers owner would laugh his ass off at that trade proposal, that's just a ridiculous statement.

I don't see Portland being "really bad," though. They are not a "top" team but don't look to be a "bottom" team, either. Just average .500-ish, which is likely for Paul Allen to stay put until at least the summer of 2014.

Really? people are saying no to him on here? Some analysts have him as the best Power Forward in the league... I take what he can do in a heart beat. The man can really play the game of basketball.

No way I include Parsons in any deal until I see what the Rockets PF situation looks like mid-season. It's a given Asik is gone after next season but Paraons has the looks of a cornerstone to a dynasty and I think even his new deal will be a good value for the Rockes.

Yes they can, you can trade away the 2014 pick immediately after the 2013 draft (because the 2013 picks no longer exist) unless someone owns it or your 2015 pick.

The rule was put in place because Stepien trading away all future picks at once, you can if you really want to trade every single first rounder doing it after each draft, e.g. you can trade the 2014 pick after the 2013 draft, then trade the 2015 pick after the 2014 draft, then the 2016 pick after the 2015 draft.

Just thinking back, if only injuries did not happen, Portland will have what Rox will be trying to build by getting LMA.

A ball handling guard + a scoring PF + a dominant big man. If potential comes to fruition, we will all be thinking, will roy + oden </> Harden + Dwight.
Ifs and buts, I'm just happy even if Rox staying put.

No way Parsons is delt. If Aldrige comes to Houston it would have to be a 3 team deal most likely

    Rockets recieve
    LaMarcus Aldrige

    Portland recives
    Omer Asik
    Terrence Jones
    Jeremy Lin
Rockets next 2 first round picks unprotected
    unknown assest from 3rd team

    Unknown 3rd team recieves
    2 draft picks from Rockets
    one European Player from Rockets

Here's a deal that makes sense involving Portland and Detroit

    Rockets get

    Aldridge

    Portland gets

    Greg Monroe
Charlie Villanueva(expiring deal to make work)

    Detroit gets

    Lin
    Asik

This deal also works for d-mo or jones to Detroit in place of Asik.

Why would Detroit want Asik if they are going to have Drummond?

Most of these trade proposals are preposterous.

Because I don't know, he's a much better basketball player right now. But replace him with d-mo or jones and our picks in 2014 and 2016. That works too.

We don't need the best power forward in the league. We need the right fit at that position. LMA is a jump shooter but not a distance shooter. He's a really good player but we may not need someone that good.

I think they're going to roll the dice with Jones and DMo for a while and then if they're not working out maybe you see something at the trade deadline. Remember Lin and Asik even though their cap numbers are 8.3 they're actually making 15 Mil next season. Les has incentive to deal them, he's had them for relatively cheap so far. To dump them before next season would fall in line with a Moreyball type move.

I disagree. I'd choose Drummond over Asik any day of the week.

You can slide Drummond to the PF position and let Asik play at the 5.
    I actually like the proposal.

Also a nice proposal and it makes sense for everyone if LMA demands a trade to Houston.
