Not arguing here. But i would says that oklahoma took 10 cents on the dollar for harden. It was a trade of unequal proportions. almost makes you feel bad for the thunders GM.

Persons will not be traded in the Aldridge deal. Persons is more important than Aldridge for this team when we meet OKC and Heats. Morey can still get Aldridge, it is not very complex. I think Aldridge will list certain teams for the trade, then Houston is likely the no 1 team on the list for several reasons. Blazers do not have much choice by then to accept a unfair deal.

But why on earth do you give in? The Rockets literally hold all the cards. Aldridge wants out, and if portland hates their offer, they can deal asik for a good power forward straight up. Not LMA, but a guy that is plenty capable. And you are talking to a UT alum that wants Aldridge badly. Trading Parsons for him is foolish and unnecessary.

I think parsons IS replaceable enough

Dont think its necessary to trade him though. Better to offer a future pick instead, if other team would accept.

Morey said having asik is as good as having a pf upgrade. It remains to be seen if thats actually true. But the rockets have enough right now to play the season. The rockets added dwight to the same exact team without giving up anyone. let the current pieces settle in place

I doubt Morey would be eager to hand Omer over to the team we're going to be competing with in the playoffs for years to come.

Besides help at center the Blazers need another shooting guard. I think a Lillard-Lin backcourt could work with Lillard playing at the 2 on offense. If not Lin can play the Ginobili role for them off the bench.

We just have to find a third team who wants Asik,Beverly(or Lin), and which ever PF they want out of us..... We would also have to give up a 1st rnd pick(a couple maybe)

I'd love to get him though..... I think we could do it with out giving parsons up

Will the posters who include Parsons in whatever trade PLEASE stop doing this? Parsons is not going anywhere.

    Here, I'll repeat it:

    Parsons is not going anywhere.

Hell, even if the player in return were an All-Star, that player wouldn't be worth what Morey would have to throw in to make it work.

LMA is a borderline All Star---but, yes, an All Star. Still, if we get him, don't throw Parsons into the mix. Morey promised him personal free car washes plus a big contract extension for getting Dwight (yes, I'm making this up, so please don't post, "Link?")

Now, if the deal were for a Kevin Love---who, lest we forget, (and some of you have, considering the guy was injured), is the best PF in the league (if you don't count defense)---then Morey might have a Parsons conundrum. But such a player would not be on the block anyway.

If we trade Parsons, won't we be horribly weak at 3.

    5 4 2 1 set, now 3 will be a hole?

Aren't we back to our original problem of having a hole at 4?

Some of you people really make me wonder what the hell you do for a living. Trading Parsons to get LA is not going to help this team get better.

To the people who keep bringing up Parsons trade scenarios: you're wasting your time.

Looks like Aldridge is trying to put this rumor to bed...
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>I guess we making up stuff now huh..... Been in Dallas for going on two weeks. Smh</p>&mdash; Lamarcus Aldridge (@aldridge_12) <a href="https://twitter.com/aldridge_12/statuses/357886546080305152">July 18, 2013</a></blockquote>
    <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
that said the report never mentioned that Aldridge was in Vegas...just that "his people" had a meeting with Olshey.

I question fans like you. You have arguably the best PF in the game and would pass him over to keep a role player in C. Parsons? Same goes for players like K.Love and Ryan Anderson. LaMarcus Aldridge is a better player than all 3 of them COMBINED!

Look at it another way, right now, we have Harden, Howard and Parsons as our best players but lets say (knock on wood) Harden gets a concussion (to avoid any kind of jinxing here) and have to be out for a few game.

The offense then goes through Howard and Parsons. That duo AIN'T going anywhere! Parsons cannot create for himself nor does he make anyone better around him. With LaMarcus and Howard, you have more than a fighting chance and the team's offense will stay intact if not even better with more touches between Howard and LaMarcus.

Let's say Howard suffers a concussion and out for a few games. Harden and Parson is our duo and again, that has already proven to be worth NOTHING....especially if Asik is already traded. However Harden and LaMarcus is MORE than enough to keep the team offense intact if not even better with more touches between the two.

Let's say Parsons gets a concussion and out for a few games. Harden and Howard is our duo and that's still enough to get us far.

So, anyway you look at it, Parsons is NOT important. He's a simple role player. Rob Covington, given playtime, can spell Parsons and then some....just saying!

Now, lets say we trade Asik, Parsons and DMO for Lamarcus. We then have a Big 3 of Harden, Howard and LaMarcus. If anyone of them suffers a concussion and out for a few games, we will never be hurting offensively nor defensively.

If you are those K.Love/C.Parson/R.Anderson fanboys and can't see that, please just hush and support the Rockets pursue of LaMarcus Aldrige as you simply do not know what you're talking about.

LMA is a stretch 4 that can compliment Howard and Harden nicely. It's the reason teams like the Lakers, Mavs and Hawks went after Howard hard because they already have their stretch 4 types in Gasol, Notwizski and Al Horford.

Parsons is simply expendable. Trading him will NOT hurt us one bit. It only hurts you because you want that "certain identity" on the squad the same way you'd want K.Love or Ryan Anderson......or to see DMO developes into a solid 4. Please!

Go to Minny if you want to see a team with that sort of identity.

Parsons exceeds expectations by averaging 10 points a year in rookie season.
Year 2, an improvement to 16 and 5
And averaging more than 18 PPG in playoffs
    Glue guy for the team
Hard worker, good marketer for the franchise.

I'm not trading him for LMA

Parsons took a step down from last year defensively, you cant argue that. And sure it may be somewhat of a knee jerk reaction to how well garcia played Durant in the playoffs, but lets see how well garcia is defensively this next FULL season.

Lamarcus Aldridge is worth a lot but not worth giving up all of that and giving a huge piece to a team we will be competing against in the playoffs for years to come. This trade will never happen.

No need to trade Parsons for players we can get if we remain patient.

    Morey ain't dumb.
