Ok...fine.... well how about this. How did Jamison look last season playing in D'Antoni's system as a traditional stretch 4??... career lows in minutes played, PPG, and his WS% was at its lowest since the 09/10/11 Wizards days when it was at its lowest.

For the career Jamison has had as a productive offensive player on mostly bad teams, last year was his absolute worst, and it just so happened to be on a playoff team.

(as bad as the Lakers were last year in comparison to normal years, they still were all things considered a "good" team)

If Jamison has a bounce back year offensively that's one thing, but that doesn't necessarily say anything about his defense, which has year after year been one of the worst in the league for his position year after year.

IMO, if you have a comparable 3 point shooter(which the Rockets have several), who can space the floor and provide similar defense(which several are better), then what's the point of adding Jamison? He gives you NOTHING else than what you already have. You are better defensively with Parsons/Casspi/Garcia at the PF spot with comparable 3 point shooting.

Add to that, Jamison is coming off of wrist surgery. As minor as it might seem, at his age, and being a shoot first player that will relied on to stretch the floor on offense, there are reg flags with him as far as health goes.

    Just no...sorry.

I don't think we should add another 4 unless it's a big name like Aldridge or Love. Why take minutes away from TJones & Motie? If we plan on landing Aldridge, we need to showcase our PF's cause one of them will def be included in the trade.

    Finally a complete answer ;)

Anyway I don't think that last year's lakers can be a comparison for anyone on the team, also Howard payed bad, and not only because of surgery, but the system was bad.

I am not speaking about Jamison as the future of franchise, but I can think about him as an Helper, especially on offensive hand.

I don't think we have possibility to add Aldridge or Klove, unfortunately.

Stay like this is a possibility but add a veteran (rockets are thinking about a 40yrs old center right now) who can help could be a nice addition imho.

Jamison is a volume shooter who seldom sees the other players. The Rockets also play too fast for him. I don't see any aspect that would be better with him than with the present roster.

-First Howard did not play bad in comparison to other Centers in the league. He still led the league in rebounding, and had numbers that a center like Asik, Noah, & Chandler couldn't touch even in the peak years. The system isn't necessarily bad to play during the regular season, but the problem the Lakers had was forcing it on players that weren't best suited for it.

Second of all- Regardless of the mess they had at putting the pieces together for MDA system -yes, you can compare the year the Lakers had last year because of two things-

    1. If you take out the big names, the Lakers tradition(or whatever), and just look at the record, the Lakers were a middle of the road playoff team. The teams that Jamison mostly played on through his career were lottery bound teams where he was a primary scorer.

    2. If you look at the role Jamison was put in with LA (floor spacing PF), it would assumingly be the same type of role he would be in with Houston next year(floor spacing PF) despite whatever changes McHale might make to accomodate a dominate center.

Forget about how much better the Rockets are than the Lakers, and just focus on the fact that Jamison was on a team & system where he was not someone that was allowed to create a shot, and he was mostly used as a role playing decoy in the corners.

Its Very hard for me to look at Jamison and see a player that will have much more of an impact offensively if not worse than last year with this next years Rockets team. There is 15 years of NBA data to back up any theories basketball folks think about what kind of player Jamison will be.... and trust me, he's not a difference maker.

There is nothing he gives the Rockets over what tools they already have other than experience(which is overrated after year 5), and insurance if injuries take their toll.

Im not saying I wouldn't want him on this team at all (maybe as a 15th man insurance policy), but what I am saying is he gives us nothing that we dont already have from a talent perspective.
