Well that's nice, but what can the Lakers offer? If Kobe will cooperate, they can try to get enough cap space to offer deals to Melo and Lebron, and then have scrubs otherwise. But, it's a bit unbalanced to have your stregth in 3 swing players. That doesn't look persuasive to me when both of those guys are already in winning situations.

Lakers fans are lying to themselves if they think Kobe will take anything less than the max. Furthermore, he is gonna turn that whole franchise into his personal "get me to more total points than MJ" machine. It's gonna be the 2006-2008 Astros with Craig Biggio x10.

I don't see LeBron leaving if Miami keeps winning championships. Why leave a good situation in Miami for uncertainty in Los Angeles?

It's not just a matter of how much money Kobe wants, he also wants the all time scoring record, which will require him being the first option on offense for several more years. Melo nor Lebron is coming to LA to be Kobe's side kick.

This is so dumb. It's just ESPN trying to keep LA's hopes up. Say a team like the Hornets or the Rockets were going after them. Do they report that? Ridiculous

sources: 30 NBA teams including the Miami Heat will pursue LeBron James if he opts into free agency in 2014

First, D'Antoni questioning how Howard will fit with the Rockets, then this ridiculous Laker pipe dream of signing Melo and LeBron, and finally Dallas signing Dalembert as their starting center......I think I'm about to have some kind of crazy mind orgasm with all the schadenfreude I'm experiencing right now. If the Utah Jazz suddenly announced they were folding, I think I might just spontaneously eviscerate into a fine mist.

But then you wouldn't be around for the Karl Malone "I'm a homosexual" press conference.

Actually they could put Lebron at the point I think. That might work if their pipe dream comes true.

If Miami wins again next year, there is absolutely no chance Lebron will leave. He will possibly do something neither MJ or Kobe has ever done, win 4 in a row.

I think Laker fans are going to be in for another big shock. I think they will strike out once again next year. Even if they get Melo, they arent going to go anywhere...

The best thing for them to do is to just tank and wish for the best in the coming draft.

Can the Lakers win another Championship with Kobe on their roster?

He doesnt have to be on the same team to win 4 in a row

But NO WAY Lebron helps KOBE get more RINGS and makes kobes legacy even better to where he cant catch it. Lebron is already helping d wade get +1 rings than him. I doubt he extends that courtesy to kobe

There is NO incentive for Lebron to help Kobe win another ring and "separate" Kobe's legacy further from Lebron's through rings.

I dream of a league where nobody but espn gives a damn about the prestige and bright lights of LA and the Lakers. And then the fans turn on Kobe like the hyenas did on Scar in the lion king

LA: Hey, Lbrn. Come play with us and Carmello.

Bron: You do know I just won another championship, right?

    LA: We da Lakas

Bron: Who else do you have?

    LA: Farmar and Caveman.

    Bron: Where do I sign?

This is how i picture the conversation will go in LA's head.

Please...for the love of God...let Kobe Bryant and Carmelo Anthony play on the same team. That would be the highest form of comedy.
