Yes. Asik would have probably been an all-star If Howard was in Orlando and they still had to pick centers by position.
Of course. And yes, Parsons is definitely overrated on here. But I personally feel he's not going to be one of these players like Bostjan Nachbar or Chase Budinger or Rodrick Rhodes or one of those who many of us thought had the potential to reach all-star level. None of those players came close to a 15+-point average in their 2nd year. I see Parsons as more like a Dan Majerle-type in that he could be a #3 best player- but you'd also have to have a lot of solid players as well. I would definitely not market him at this point as one of the Big 3- and the Rockets aren't doing that, which makes them smart. But it wouldn't surprise me to see him reach the level of someone like Tom Chambers or Luol Deng (well, not as good a defender as Deng, but offensively). The point is that it's just an unknown at this point. Next year will definitely be interesting.

I have yet to see Chan Chan in a national ad, or speaking for any company really... Just on ESPN every now and then and hell if I wasn't a Rockets fan I wouldn't notice. wtf is all this about Parsons being a star now? What because he did a spot with Jacoby Jones on ESPN!?! Jacoby Jones! Hell Omri gets more national air play than Chandler.
That is not the way one should act when they have just had their head handed to them on a platter. Chill holmes...seriously...I mean as in SERIOUSLY I never do this, but I will admit to negflagged you for the pottymouth simply cause we are tryin to cut back on the insulting stuff....on a personal level I enjoyed your domination. Sorry man
Completely justified. We want to keep this board top-quality, and my Turrets-laden post was uncalled for. No reason we all can't debate without going there. jgreen does have a valid point in that some on this board overrate CP. I just feel that once you get into the 15+-point average range, especially in one's 2nd year, you have an outside shot at an all-star bid. Now, if we're talking a 12-point or 10-point average, no. But 15 and above puts you in that "potential" category, based on history.
I didn't have my head handed to me on a platter. He simply went on a tangent and posted 7-8 times with examples of outlier type players who made 1 or 2 all star games. He could have done that in one post and not continue quoting me over and over for saying Parsons is over rated. My point still stands and my point is strong and valid. Chandler Parsons basically went from an unknown to an untouchable and is severely overrated on this website. I hope he proves me wrong but it's unlikely he will never live up to the hype he's received on clutchfans. I've been here since 2002 and have never seen clutchfans over rate a Rockets player this much. Hate me or Love me, that's just a fact.
