We have Parsons for 2 more years at >1 million. He ain't going anywhere until then, and he will probably get an extension before the end of next season.
We are almost dead locked with Lin and Asik for the next 2 years for 16 mils, without any signs of other teams willing to take their contracts (especially Lin), how the hell can you get any big name 4? and once these 2 guys are off the book, you will have Parsons coming up to eat up majority of the portion of this 16 mils, and you will still need to spend a decent portion for a quality PG and a backup C. So? Got it now?
You got to include Bosh in there. he got stopped by the Spurs and Pacers because he was the only big they had to defend. But with Howard they will not be able to focus on him and he will not have to focus on D as much. He will be much more productive here in Houston and that is an upgrade IMO. Plus if the heat want to improve that is the perfect trade for them. Omer and TJones for Bosh makes perfect sense. Center is the weakest spot for the Heat and Bosh is not a center. He said as much going into Miami. He wanted to play 4 but with Lebron playing so much 4 Bosh is not very effective as a 5. He is out of position or not as valuable at those times. So trade Bosh for Omer and upgrade the 5 and get a solid 4 in TJones as well. The heat will easily win the east again and we will win the west. A frontline of Bosh Howard and The problem is we fill the heats weakest spot and make ourselves vulnerable to them. I am not sure if I would pull that trigger but it makes a lot of sense for both teams more then almost any other deal for Love or LMA. Portland has centers now as does Minny. LMA may be on the block but they want an all star back and Minny doesn't want to trade Love at all and will try to build the team around him this year. Perhaps if Minny is convinced they will lose Love for nothing like LA lost Howard than they will start looking come trade deadline but again they don't want Omer. They don't want anyone on our team not named Harden or Howard on our team. So how is that deal for LMA or Love going to Happen. SO I think that leaves Bosh. I am sure the heat wouldn't do it straight up for Omer but if T Jones or DMo show solid improvement, one of those guys could make it happen. They don't need a superstar becaus Omer is an improvement over Bosh over the defense and the Heat got offense covered without Bosh. The question is simple, "Do you think Bosh makes this team so much better as a stretch 4 than losing Omer's defense. And can you get someone like Camby to give you some solid backup minutes to make up for Omer's loss. If the answer is yes than you do that deal. Bosh can also play backup and might be okay, he does block shots, for a few minutes but I would like someone on defense a little better than him. If you believe that than pull the plug. The only reason the Heat don't do the deal because Riley shows some loyalty to those three guys. But if anywhere along the season they hear Bosh is thinking about opting out than all loyalty is out the window and bosh will be on the market. I don't pretend to know how likely that scenario is to happen but I think it is more likely to happen than LMA or Love coming here.
Carmelo Light isn't looking like that great of a fit on a summer league team.. It makes perfect since the he would be the right fit for a championship team instead.
I love Terrence Jones and his game, but I don't think he'll fit well with Dwight in the middle now. Reason is he needs a consistent jumpshot.
