This is our Rockets 101, "He’s (Dwight) either getting a dunk or someone else is left wide-open."

Lol was actually just writing up a thread to post it. I'll just write my comments here.

I love Jason Friedman's articles and think this one is on point as usual. There are some great quotes from Jeremy and Chandler (alluding to the "mini-camp" and T-Jones development). I thought I couldn't get any more excited for the season, but with such a young team coming together like this in the middle of the summer it shows great promise that they will be able to overcome the adversity that comes along with the season. They are already showing great maturity, growth, and camaraderie. I know there are more moves to be made, but we are all in for a great journey! Lets relish every moment.

Agreed, I don't think we are hurting at the PF position like some would have you believe. TJones has pretty amazing handles and vision for a big guy, combine that with his atheticism and some hard work and he could be special.

I also like the potential of DMo as well. His length combined with either Asik or Howard on defense could make for an imposing front court. His confidence in his mid range to 3point shooting will determine his playing time though.

This is going to be a fun season.

Rockets need to forget all the drama and focusing on playing ball.

If Dwight's biggest fear is Free Throw, then he is on a really good track.

    Fan opinion though...

James and Dwight already in synch is a beautifull thing.Harden will make Dwight life a lot easier this season with his sublime playmaking.

I hope they win two rings together. Tie up the spurs with 4 total and pass the pistons/heat

DMO says to both TJ and D12... "catch me if you can" ;)

“Everybody is accommodating everyone else right now. We’re trying to build something together that everyone can buy into. Everyone’s voice on the team is going to be heard and the job of the coaches and the players is going to be to put the egos aside and find the happy medium. I’m sure that will be done over time and there will be bumps and bruises along the way like with every team. But having a week like this to bond and come together as a group can go a long way toward helping us overcome those obstacles in the end.”

Will there be too much ego for the team? lin seems to caution that right now.. we'll see. point is, everyone has to sacrifice their game a little; everyone has to give. dwight will not have the ball as much as he did in orlando, and harden won't be the end-all-be-all that he was last year. and chandler's touches will most likely decrease compared to last year with a big that actually demands the ball unlike asik.

this year will be more important than ever for mchale to show that he can actually manage a team with egos.

Actually I don't see an ego problem at all. Lin, Asik, Harden, Parsons had to work hard to prove themselves and it was Houston that believed in them and gave them their shots. There's loyalty there, gratitude, humility, and a similar background that helps to bind the players together. There's no Kobe type ego demanding to be traded on draft day and refusing to take pay cuts to help the team. They're young and having fun. There's some pressure to win but nothing like last year in LA.

It'd be fun if the Clippers showed up or maybe a team comprised of Jabbar, Love, Ariza, Miller and Holiday showed up. Put that on YouTube or something then recruit some (more) kids to UCLA.

Building esprit-de-corps early prepares the team for the hard times.... They learn to lean on each other...

This is really good stuff.... No coach pushing them... Sorta like the attitude the Texans have regarding off season workouts...

Can't coach or teach espirit-de-corps... Teams gotta want it.

    See the Spurs for details.
