Today is the day where Cushing should get full medical clearance from Dr. James Andrews.

I'm sure the Texans will limit Cushing in training camp and the preseason. All that matters though is that he is good to go for week 1.

Unfortunately, I feel that Cushing will be truly 100% and return to form by the time playoffs start. He will be rusty come the start of the season.

Is Cushing going to be training at training camp or helping speed his recovery along by "overtraining"?

Not a chance. Dude is a freak. If anything he might be ineffective for the first game because he'll be too hyped up. That guy wakes up with more adrenaline running through him than you and me have ever felt in our lives.

Except the year he missed the first 4 games because of his suspension the rest of the season he played pretty poorly.

I think that had more to do with Frank Bush than Cushing himself. Everyone on the defense sucked that year.

Cushing was just fine the next year when Wade came in. In fact, he was named Team MVP and 2nd Team All Pro.

I am not saying that he won't be hyped up. Just simple fact that even though players can get cleared, they will not be back to their top athleticism in an instant. It takes time for the knee to get back to full strength even after getting cleared.

    So that explains the overtraining
