You're in denial. http://www.chron.com/opinion/editorials/article/Racial-bias-and-mar1juana-possession-4599462.php www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/criminal-justice/is-there-racial-bias-in-stand-your-ground-laws/ I can find so much more about the weed stats, this is a well known fact. If you are black and smoke pot, you are much more likely to get caught for doing so for 'whatever' reason. Well then, that means that there could be a problem with our Criminal Justice System doesn't it? If this was a black man he would have been charged. No doubt about that. You don't get it huh? You just don't. It's more than that, this whole thing is more than who attacked who or if he was profiled or not. It's about the Justice system as a whole, A man standing over a dead man and not being charged with anything initially, and the justice system as a whole. Even if you want to be naive and believe everything Zimmerman said there is still and always will be that. It still doesn't change the fact. Lol I agree. Any one that continues to argue over this black-hispanic white-hispanic is just ignorant about what it really means. White, black, asian, whoever. You're right there. But you still thought there was no such thing as white-hispanic which there is, this is not some new term or new idea. Probably because they are actually black. Some people actually don't understand that a black person can still be very very light skin, they think they must must be mixed with something. So if they don't identify as white hispanic, then why in 2010 53% of Hispanics in USA identified as White-Hispanic then? http://www.census.gov/prod/cen2010/briefs/c2010br-02.pdf
No, I refuted a false statement with a fact. I never painted a picture of Zimmerman as a racist. You say that the biggest tragedy of this case was not the loss of a human life but aggressive prosecution of a man who killed a teenager he profiled and followed for absolutely no good reason and my arguments are nonsense? Lol...That's rich. About as rich as your ridiculous drivel about the media characterizing a man with 50% Hispanic heritage and 50% caucasian heritage as a combination of both. Why on Earth does Zimmerman's Hispanic mom define his race anymore than Zimmerman's Caucasian father? He's a mixture of both. To deny that is to deny science and common sense.
No evidence to this statement. I expect more from the logic, truth, and justice warriors. Oh this is fun calling out your assumptions and theories.
Let's see, I could spend the rest of the night arguing with a clearly racist black man who is convinced that I am a racist, or I can go have sex with the wife. Lots of easy points to argue (like "they identified as white-hispanic because that's the option they were given", or "he wasn't charged initially because there was insufficient evidence, which also happens to be why he was acquitted", but such concepts are likely too deep at this point... and will only distract from sex)... Tough choice. See ya.
Even Newt Gingrich, about as right wing a conservative as you can find, conceded there are inherent and significant biases against colored individuals in the justice system. If you want to say that racial bias had nothing to do with this case, that's all well and good. It clearly wasn't a clear-cut OJ kind of case. But for pete's sake, if you deny that there is inherent inequity in the criminal justice system you are just deluding yourself and consciously ignoring facts and statisics.
Also from the PDF I posted. It's saying exactly what I said. Basically, being hispanic, latino, is more of a cultural thing. Your race is something else. Al Horford (since this is a NBA forum) is a black hispanic. He's racially black, but his parents are from Dominican Republic, that's where his heritage lies. Sosa, Black hispanic, Christina Aguilara...white hispanic... Being Scottish is more of a cultural thing, it's not your race. You'd be white (presumably) but you can still say "I'm Scottish." It's ture, it doesn't make you less white... I'm done with this White-Hispanic thing. I'll just continue to chuckle at the people that think you either have to be White or Hispanic.
Yes I saw that, I literally had to think if Gingrich had a brother or what. I had no idea what was going on until Anderson was like "Everyone is wondering who are you?" Even Zimmerman's OWN attorneys said the same thing. If you think that everything is fine and well with the Criminal Justice System in America when it comes to black people then you are either just. -Naive, and hopefully wishing that was the case. All this is a bad bad coincidence. or -Happy with how it is. And I hope for most people it's the former and not the latter.
Haha just putting in time in these logic warrior trenches. Somehow they developed an incredible monopoly on these facts that dont exist! It's amazing!

These types of comments underscore the sensitivities of the GOP which will surely result in tremendous minority support at election time. (CNN) – Rep. Andy Harris, R-Maryland, has some blunt advice for those protesting or focusing on last week's verdict in the George Zimmerman trial. "We're hung up on this one case, where this one fellow was, in fact, found not guilty by a jury. That's the way the American law system works," Harris said Tuesday morning in a radio interview. "Get over it." http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2013/07/16/gop-congressman-on-verdict-get-over-it/?hpt=hp_bn3
George Zimmerman's family lives in fear after 'enormous amount of death threats' following verdict Robert and Gladys Zimmerman say relatives, the chief of police in Sanford, Fla., and defense attorneys have all been targets following the acquittal of their son for the murder of Trayvon Martin. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/nat...death-threats-article-1.1399756#ixzz2ZHdaZAGy --------------- This is probably the worst thing that is happening since the verdict has been read. The family will never be the same again.
Thanks for bringing this up -- it highlights how right I've been since DAY ONE. I was asking questions in those posts. And now that we have some more context around the answers -- it appears I was correct in asking those questions! Trayvon did have illegal drugs in his system, and he did get aggressive, according to the jurors. So again, I was spot on from day 1.
Didn't really pay full attention to this trial but did Zimmerman ever say why he thought Martin looked suspicious?
