    I think he played on a fracture leg for most of a season and never could get it fix...kinda like if you go so long w/o an oil change and your engine goes out I guess

    Lol I'm always amazed at how some posters take a quote and completely run the wrong way with it.

    Mchale is not the GM and it is not his job to determine whether Asik would be wasted on the bench. Simple as that.

    It's not his job to make a call on Asik playing time or coming off the bench?. He is the coach who decides who plays where and how much.

    It's not his call to make on whether or not Asik is a waste of talent sitting on the bench

    EITHER:

    McHale doesn't care if it's regarded as a "waste" - he's happy to have a quality big off the bench

    OR:

    his "smile" means he knows something else is in the pipeline and doesn't want to say anything
