If you do a drug test, does it mean you got the job?

    Industrial engineering. The position i got was for mechanical engineers. I'm blessed.

    Congrats Outlier, now don't screw it up. Get off this silly website and put on your big boy pants and start preparing for this job and learn how the business world works (even though engineers are terrible business people). Uh, just work you way up the ladder and do as your told, on second thought.

    What a huge generalization. Most executives in oil companies are engineers. CEO at Exxon, BP, etc.

    Congrats man. I remember after graduating in December 2011, it took me 9 months to finally find a job. Persistence does pay off, I was able to get a job in Oil and Gas like I wanted as well.

    You most likely got it. Somone already mentioned that most companies aren't going to pay for a test if they don't intend on hiring. Additionally, there's potential legal ramifications for drug testing someone that you don't intend on hiring. Same with background checks. Depending on what you signed to consent.

    My company gets random drugs test, good thing cocaine is only in someones system for a few days. I usually go out on Friday nights and buy a 20.
