Chandler caries himself like a superstar. He acts with confidence and associates himself with other superstars as if he is one of them. I love it. I think a lot of Chandlers game is based on confidence and he just feels like he belongs. He is not going to be a passenger in the train, he's going to drive the damn train! I think it's some of those intangible assets that some players have that is hard to place a value on but there is no denying it's value. The game is not bigger than him, the setting is not bigger than him and he is not in awe of players like LeBron or Durrant. That is exactly the kind of attitude he needs to take the next step... or two.
My guess is chandler was down about the fact that he gets paid very little for how he plays and his new agent advised him to make up some of the difference in endorsements and appearances. I dont see the problem, as long as he plays well. He has already put himself out there by saying he'll be that third max guy, so he knows he has work to do. I'd be a little worried about him leaving for LA or NY..but i think he may like the fact that he can go party at other places for big events and still live here and party on the down low.
Parsons has stated that its really his personality. He has a outgoing and friendly personality. He loves making contacts, and is always looking to market himself. To me he is just a smart kid. He is setting himself for a huge pay day in the future, and a long lasting relationship in the NBA. Just think about all the assets that were moved since the 2 years ago when he was drafted? And he is still here? Its remarkable that he has positioned himself as a valuable asset for the team, and extremely marketable Rocket player.
Agreed...when you believe something so strongly...eventually you just become that person...He believes it so strongly and works so hard, and when it happens he knew that it would. Parsons is a guy that is "successful" because he believes in himself.
As long as it doesn't affect his game, his focus and as long as he doesn't do anything to bring bad PR to the Rockets or the NBA...who cares? More power to him. Parsons has the type of likable, easygoing, confident personality that enables him to easily connect well with a variety of people. That is good for the league's image.
Poor guy is having to get by on the equivalent of $17k a week? How's he gonna feed his future family?
Don't underestimate the value of this visibility on his next contract. I'll bet Dan Fegan (his new agent) has a big hand in all of this new-found activity. CP gonna get paid!!
Dawg, the man's spending like 10k a week on food alone, his miniscule salary is NOT enough. PAY THE MAN!

Wouldn't you want try to gain attention if you were an NBA player? His play on the court speaks for itself but hasn't drawn a lot of recognition from national media outlets, so advertising himself off the court is a smart business move to get his name out there. His payday is coming.
