some people on here don't seem to be happy unless the Rockets sign up stars of the game Houston need more depth to the bench and he would add that
Because he was actually healthy this past season because he did something he had never done, in trying to treat his back. There's no reason to believe it won't keep working. It's not like he's 38, he's 33, so he's still at a good playing age. What does his scoring avg have to do with it? He's used purely as a spot up shooter. He's not going to get consistent enough minutes to build a good PPG average. his shooting %, especially from three, is much more important. 80 of the 100 games missed were in his first two seasons in miami. Do you really think Miami would let him go, if they didn't have Allen? They're not letting him go because he can't play or contribute, it's because allen can play his role and it'll save them money.
He shows up when he is needed... <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>At one point during the Spurs series, Mike Miller was 16-for-last-18 on three-point attempts during NBA Finals play.</p>— Tommy Beer (@TommyBeer) <a href="https://twitter.com/TommyBeer/statuses/357218587221569536">July 16, 2013</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Miami are still paying the bulk of his salary, so any team would take him on, a player for virtually free
Y'all are being harsh. I'd take him in a heartbeat at the right price. His health is a risk we can afford to take. He's underrated as a basketball player, he was never really a limited spot up shooter, he can rebound and hustle. He's a more well rounded player than what he has been able to show in the Heat's stand and wait offense.
LOL! Indeed, Mike Miller knows what is needed to win. It involves hitching a ride with the LeBron train. Mike Miller is a "champion" like Joel Anthony and Juwan Howard are "champions".
I wish he didn't look like he was suffering all the time. He can play ball, but he's going to get injured this year if he plays 10 minutes a game.
Thanks for this comment. Shows that you didn't watch the finals these past two years, which discredits your opinion.
Wow. Can't believe the criticism Miller is getting on here. Unbelievable how much people just love to either hate or love player. Look, Mike Miller would be a perfect fit for this team in the Delfino type of role next year with this team, and actually is a much more reliable 3 point shooter, and excellent rebounder for his position. The problems here though is - A. How much will he cost in the bidding process B. Would his health hold up enough to give them 10 minutes a night? If the cost is a million dollars off of the salary cap for this year and next, you should definitely take the risk. The guy is worth it even if its just for the last few months of the season & postseason.
He contributed. He played 20 minutes a game in the finals. You sound like a fool when you run your mouth without checking any facts.
I like Miller but I just worry about that body of his. He's shown he can be effective in limited minutes but not sure he's worth the add with the younger guns you want to see develop. I think OKC is a perfect spot for him.
Robert Horry averaged nearly 10 ppg during his title runs with the Rockets, Lakers, and Spurs. He's in a different league from Mike Miller and his paltry 3.7 ppg, don't you think? If you want a better comparison for Mike Miller, it's Peja Stojakovic in 2010. Another sharpshooter with a bad back who won an NBA Title. Peja was out of the league one year later.
He averaged 13 minutes and 3.4 points for the entire playoffs. He was held scoreless in 14 of 23 playoff games last season. But if you want to delude yourself by focusing on the 4 games in which Mike Miller wasn't complete garbage... then go ahead.
