I've seen a bigger rally at the KFC free giveaway.

We've never been a big protest city. We're just too laid back to seriously protest anything.

People in LA are like the Greeks - give them any reason to start protesting and they're going to be out in the streets throwing rocks and starting fires.

Houstonians care about raising families and working. This is also why we are not as passionate about sports. We just have better priorities than everyone else.

At least our protest is non-violent. Shame on all the morons walking around the streets of LA at night destroying property belonging to people who had nothing to do with the trial. Should have tear gassed the violent protesters.

100° and 100% humidity tends to keep the peaceful resistance to a minimum.

    Morons blocking 288.

Definitely making a point here, blocking everyone from coming home from work.

****ing assholes. Get jobs. They are stopping traffic for what exactly? arrest them all.

Just because the protests are non-violent doesn't make it moral or appropriate. Those people on 288 are preventing people from going to work or getting home to their families. They are scum of the earth.

Protestors are idiots. I wish the police could just round them up and put them in a cage in the middle of nowhere so they can't bother anyone when they rabble, a la Arrested Development.

Or if you could tase them to get the f out of the way. But with such a mob, you'd get gangbanged.

I posted that before seeing this garbage.
Riot police need to tear gas these idiots and beat them down, but they won't because then all those ignorant morons will claim its a race war and spark MLK-era violent protests.
They are lucky one of these drivers don't snap, take out a gun and start spraying into the crowd.

It's like kids in school looking to protest anything because it keeps them out of school.

I wonder if the Justice Department will get any flack about this, being that they pretty much made this national news and funded public outrage vis-a-vis funding for organized protests. The whole episode is a pathetic display on how the State can take an otherwise unnotable news story and turn it into propaganda for the ignorant masses.

    Well, it's below 90° and overcast/rainy. Unsustainable.

Glad I don't take 288! Keep 'em off I-10, the Beltway and 290, please.

People should be allowed to protest if they want. It's hilarious and sad that some people (tallanvor) have been brainwashed into criminalizing protests in their own mind. Forty years ago, people were protesting everywhere over the Vietnam War, but now protesters are looked at as hooligans. This means the government has won on a subliminal level. But I'm not surprised 95% of people can't think for themselves so they can't see this.

You are allowed to protest if its not done in the middle of the ****ing highway blocking traffic. Look man, I'll be frank with you. 90% just simply do not care. If you are not a racist, or a member of the black community, or maybe a member of the minority community as a whole who has been subjected to racial discrimination in the past or known someone who was unfairly treated by the justice system then they simply do not care.

I do not care. As far as moral support in that I believe Zimmerman is guilty, that's as far as I'm willing to go. I bet you nearly every driver on 288 that day felt the same. These are people just trying to go to work and then get back home to their families, they don't care about an overblown trial. Antagonizing the general populace who are not in any way invested in this matter is just as bad as those door to door bible thumpers trying to convert people.

I'm not against protesting but stop disrupting the lives of everyone else.
