Would it be a slap in the face to trade Parsons to land that 3rd star?

    So, I've been thinking...

Morey obviously didn't try to get Smith or Anderson because he knows something better is likely to show up if he waits (Love or Aldridge).

And because the Rockets don't have anything either of those teams need , then I'm a bit worried about how the Rockets would be able to give away enough talent in a trade, say for Aldridge...

So, one of these teams with the 3rd start that Morey is targeting may ask for Parsons.

After learning that Parsons was a HUGE reason why Howard signed with the Rockets, and after all of that pitching Parsons did to Howard, do you think it would be a slap in the face for the Rockets to trade Parsons for that all star PF, or would it be okay since Morey would just be doing what's best for the team.

Personally, I'd say its a shame we'd have to give up Parsons, but if a team like Portland or Minnesota demanded we give Parsons if we want Love or Aldridge, then I'd do it.

I would like to hear your thoughts.

It's a business, but Parsons is by far my favorite player by far. Would be sad if he got traded.

The salaries won't match, so it's not happening.

Lin gets traded before Parsons. Do we really want him on another team trying to recruit Dwight in two years.

Here we go again. Yes, it would be a slap in the face.

Yes, Morey would do it in a heart beat.

Would I be sad for him - Yes - he is a bad ass and has a great attitude.

    In Morey, I trust.

Having said that - I hope he's here to win a ring with the Rox!

everyone keeps talking about how parson's isn't going anywhere. once he gets paid, he'll be just as expendable outside of Harden and Howard. yeah, he was a big part in getting howard but don't think Morey won't flip him for LMA or Love if the opportunity arose. could be asik + parsons + picks for LMA or Love

We traded OT and he was better than Parsons.

I really don't see Morey moving Parsons unless its for a player of the CP3, Rose or Irving Caliber. I'd imagine that he is off limits for any trade involving guys like LMA for now. Things could change once the season has started but I think Chandler fits too well next to Harden and Howard to move unless you are getting a true superstar and not just another all star.

This has already been discussed at length I think. It's unlikely that Parsons gets traded but wouldn't be unheard of with Morey's track record.

Chandler had developed into a huge public figure for the Rockets, going on talk shows and giving interviews as well as recruiting DH. He's a fan and team favorite. Morey also probably believes that if LMA wanted out of Portland he could orchestrate a trade that left Parsons out due to the Blazers already being set with Batum.

Teams are placing huge value on future picks right now since the new cba makes cheap/young talent on a structure pay scale highly desirable. Chandler is coming up on a huge payday so for a team looking to rebuild (which is why they're getting rid of their star in the first place) they'd probably prefer a couple of good picks.

Morey knows this and can use it all to steer things in a way preferable to us. When was the last time we were on the losing end of a trade?

In this team, only Howard and Harden is a lock.

Rest of the players including Parson is tradeable when the offer is right.

I don't think he would... Parsons is a glue guy on and off the court and is poised to have a possible All-Star year. Short of landing another all NBA 1st team player, I think Parsons is almost untouchable. I guarantee you Morey has NO plans of trading Parsons to land another guy. He is a picture perfect fit for this team.

What star SF are we getting in return? Otherwise our PF depth is better than our SF depth. Garcia and Casspi are not starters, while Jones might be.

Parsons and Howard share the same agent in Fegan. And it's through that agent that they got together. I'm sure there are quite some wink-wink deals behind the scenes to get Fegan on board that we're not aware of publically.

I don't see Parsons being traded under any reasonable scenario(i.e. dismissing Lebron becoming available) in the near future. Now, once the Rockets pay Parsons big, then things may be different.

Its hard for me to believe that Morey would risk pissing off Dan Fegan AGAIN, and besides Chandler is a captain in that locker room now and the only player that Morey's drafted thats amounted to something on this team until Tjones finally breaks out.

I'd be very upset if CP25/ChandlerBang/Timberlake/WhiteMamba were to leave this team

The only guys who Asik + Parsons would be packaged for, aren't being traded.

LMA etc, with a cpl years on their contract and the ability to sign them as free agents in a cpl years at worst, no it's not worth trading your glue guy for that.

Harden was essentially trading for a 6 year contract (since his agent had said he wanted the 5 year extension), Lamarcus only has 2 left and we're not really expecting to be able to win this year anyway, so...we wait (he's not going to tell any non contender that he'll re-sign, so that basically eliminates them anyway).
