Gasol, Dwight and Chandler. You can argue Noah, Hibbert and Sanders as well.

I think it's actually very close between Gasol/Noah/Hibbert/Asik. Brook Lopez is not a center, he's a small forward in a center's body. That guy is way too soft to bang around inside.

I think Gasol is the best center in the NBA despite a bad showing during the WCF, this isn't a knock on Dwight by any stretch. The man brings out some stuff on the block I haven't seen in a while, especially with the footwork he has. He is great form the line. Defensive impact to boot.

Morey is the most honest high quality GM I've seen. What other non-player figure in sports is so blunt about how they're trying to win? Coach K or Rick Pitino perhaps.

I suppose the counterargument is that his honesty is actually a clever veil, a disarming guise for the unsuspecting masses who don't see the fact that the waters of the Rockets' management run much deeper than most teams. We've got eyes and ears in more developmental leagues, more international games than most teams, and we're constantly working the phones for any and all deals that might fall into our lap.

Morey is truly like that really annoying guy in fantasy football that sends you stupid trade offers 5x a day because he KNOWS that one out of all the teams in the league is gonna be run by an airhead who will trade for perception rather than value.

That was the most boring interview I've ever seen. And I think Morey was running on fumes. He looked even more miserable than usual.

Bit of reverse engineering, but indeed that seems most likely. For the most part Morey has stated most publicly available stats are rubbish right?

Would be interesting to see the sorta stuff they utilize within the organisation.

Morey comes off as a cross between these two:

I would take Asik over Lopez any day of the week. You can add Noah to that list as well. Gasol is a wash IMO since his defense is on par with Asiks defense however his rebounding sucks for a 7 foot center but his offense is damn good.

    Dwight
Hibbert - clearly the 2nd best center in the game
    Asik = to Noah
    Noah = to Asik
Gasol - Great defender, very good offense but not a good rebounder for a 7 footer
Lopez - I guess I value defense and rebounding more than you Brook
    Lopez loving wierdos.

Noah is a better center than Asik, leave the bias aside.

He averaged 7.8 freaking rebounds a game. That sucks for a 7 footer and it's one of the main responsibilities for a center. Exactly which part of his game do you think is better than D12's? Free throw shooting?

I'd take Asik and his contract over Noah and his contract. If I was Chicago, I would've matched that Asik contract and immeaditly dealt Noah for a competent wing, and then pursue a trade of Deng(given Butler's emergence). Still re-sign Gibson, though.

    Asik
    Boozer
    Star Wing
    Butler
    Rose

    Gibson

Much better off financially, particularly if they amnesty'd Boozer or just bought low on a talented piece that needed some discipline and fixture.

No, not even a little. Asik outplayed Noah twice last season. Asik is a every as good as Noah. Stop trying to be the anti homer. Asik performed on par against the league with Noah.

Thanks Stack. Repped. This is my favorite part right here.

Lakers fans have "fresh breakup" syndrome and are negatively influencing all of their friends' opinions about Dwight.

And your team would have been outplayed at the center position against Asik's team both times last season.

BTW, in head to head meetings last season between Asik and Noah

    Asik averaged:
    12 PPG
    12 RPG
    3 BPG

    Noah averaged:
    9.5 PPG
    8 RPG
    3 BPG

    I'll take Asik.
