Judging from our current roster. Do you think we got what it takes to beat a healthy Miami Heat in a playoffs final. Not even sure if we're good enough to get there but I'm just wondering lol

no. we wouldnt even get the ball to the halfcourt. Many many TO's for guards and we get killed by dribble penetration.

Let's take a look at this on "paper" (computer screen)

    Matchups
    Lin/Bev vs Chalmers/Cole =Rockets slightly
    Harden/Williams vs Wade/Allen? =Miami Slightly
    Parsons/Cisco vs LeBron/Battier/Miller =Miami
    DMo/Jones vs Haslem/Lewis = Miami
    Dwight/Asik vs Bosh/Anderson =Rockets

    Coaching:

    McHale Vs Spoelstra = Miami

I believe we could win a game or 2 if we faced them in a 7 game series as of today. With time though and hopefully with development of our 4's along with team chemistry, we can create a synergy that will catapult us to contender status like San Antonio, OKC, Miami, and Indi.

The Heat's weakness is teams with strong inside play. Indiana gave them a good run in most part because Hibbert was a man among boys in the paint. If Dwight can regain his dominance inside we have a good chance.

If only a team with worse guards and turnover problems than the Rockets had just pushed Miami to the brink in the playoffs, mostly due to a dominant performance inside from a big man.

Honestly, it's too speculative right now. Lot of ifs. But "can", yes. If Dwight is the guy we saw as recently as two years ago, that matches up perfectly with Miami's biggest weakness. If either Parsons or Lin takes that next step and becomes a borderline All-Star, that's the third creator this team needs. If having Dwight inside helps Parsons regain the defensive form he had as a rookie, that's the wing stopper that can at least make LeBron exert more effort.

Lot of questions and we need some breaks to go our way, but it's not unfathomable.

P.S. I highly doubt a "healthy" Dwyane Wade exists anymore.

Yes because Bosh can't guard Dwight by himself, he will need double team help which means more open shots for our trigger happy snipers.

    Absolutely

Go with the Asik-Howard combo and force them to take outside jumpers all game.

Who knows what this team will really lol like when the playoffs role around. All I know is a Howard Asik combo would dominate against Miami.

I see many flops in Bosh's future.

Miami would destroy us at the moment. We need more seasoning just like any team with new young players.

In the regular season, sure. In the playoffs, we would struggle. Last season vs. OKC an aspect of this team that really got exposed was the lack of 4th quarter confidence - Harden regularly turned the ball over and took bad shots, and in general we struggled to score. I dont see DH single-handedly remediating this problem, will take another key acquisition before we can seriously compete with the best teams in this league, especially when those games come down to the wire in the playoffs.

It had very little to do with confidence. The single biggest problem this team had down the stretch of games was the lack of an interior finisher. Whistles get swallowed, opponents are more likely to expend maximum effort, and elite shot blockers (Ibaka/Howard) are more willing to hedge. The driving lanes present earlier in games are taken away because opposing big men didn't have to worry about Omer Asik when it mattered. That simple. The "blame" goes to Harden in the sense of Skip Bayless analysis and the fact that it's easier to whine about the guy that's supposed to be a star, but the reality is that the deck was stacked against him.

If you don't see doubling the superstar count from 1 to 2 as fixing this problem, you have some sort of agenda against Harden or someone else on this team. DH is a massive upgrade that completely changes the complexion of the team on both ends of the floor.

Nope. Also we are not better then the Spurs. It takes time to build that chemistry up, which I am happy that some of the guys are training together all ready. Hopefully by mid-season things work out well with either keeping Asik and have a one two punch for the center position or have (please GOD) a chance to trade for LA. I think the team will be fun to watch and haven't been this excited since 08-09 season. I'm just happy to see playoffs and not have to lie to myself that Kevin Martin was the future. (I really hated to watch him play)

    - Heat matches badly against teams with many bigs like Memphis and Pacers. Now,we have Asik and DH, which will greatly help.

    - Heat likes to set traps. McHale need to set up plays and be prepared to have people ready to help our PGs/SG when moving the ball to the half court.

    Disagree.

I consider Spoelstra to be in the bottom 15 NBA coaches (McHale might be down there too; I haven't decided). Luckily for Spoelstra, has this guy named LeBron James. Ask Mike Brown how that works out.
