    Great post!

All I would add is while we may need an upgrade at the 4, and may have to use Asik to get one eventually, I am not in favor of another max contract unless that guy is a top 5 player in the league. If you do have the opportunity to add a top 5 player (as long as he doesnt play the 2 or 5), then you get him.

If Morey pulls this off I will be buying season tickets for the first time. It looks like this might be a special year.

We're already there. I would love to go to every game but that's difficult with work the next morning. I'm getting a partial plan.

I would agree with this for just about any other team...Problem is We have starting PG, SG, SF, and C. We only need to upgrade the Pf spot.

Aldridge is one of the best....Howard compensates for his lack of rebounding, and his game matches what we need of the spot greatly. He is a good team defender. He has elite scoring ability and can stretch the floor with mid range came. He also can be a back up to Howard at C unlike Scola.

So although he is no lebron or even Harden/Howard...he is exactly what this team needs at PF.

Problem with heat is they took 2 max players that had the same strengths and weaknesses...didn't mesh well and that was their biggest problem. Rockets however would have 3 max players at 3 key positions on the court...that fit PERFECT together, and even their positions are perfect to have big 3 at SG, PF, and C.

The second point is...Miami had no draft picks or good young players for cheap to build with.

We have Bev and parsons making the minimum...so that allows us to basically over pay at the other starting position. Also Morey is elite at getting young players like bev and parsons going forward. With the addition of vets taking the min to win the ring. This is a no brainier.

And although you had some valid points concerning the heat...(they didn't do it properly in any way) Other then nabbing James that is. lol

We most certainly will go for LA and it will be a great disappointment to the front office and Morey if we do not land him.

I've never really gone nuts about LMA because I didn't think it was ever possible. But my goodness if we could pull off something where we can get him without losing Parsons... Oh boy!

I almost wish I didn't see this rumor, I want it to happen way too much now! Lol

I dont understand why everyone here loves Aldridge so much but hated PPatt. Im not saying Aldridge is better than PPatt, but PPatt WAS a better shooter and could shoot threes to spread the floor more.

I'm more in line with your thinking. I trust Morey being able to build a team with three max players compared to what the Heat are doing.

Wade and LBJ, IMO, were not the best fit. Both of their games are based on attacking the basket and having the ball in their hands. Lastly, Wade is breaking down and everyone can see it. People tend to forget how young Harden, Howard, and LA are.

Easy to say. Winning a series is pretty difficult.

That TMac & Yao team was supposed to get us easily past the first round, especially after going 2-0 twice... didn't happen.

you know what? im actually going to have to disagree with this. Im sorry, I just dont see how that could even be brought up in conversation, debate, or anything of the matter. I will say this, you have a very unique perspective on the game called "basketball"

The beauty of dealing Asik in a package deal for Aldridge would be that Aldridge could start at the 4 and slide to the 5 for 12-16/mpg and their would not be a huge drop off in D from Asik and a much more dynamic offense with his mid-range game. Plus T Jones or Donatas (one would have to be dealt) would have 24-28 minutes a night with Aldridge (36/mpg) at C or the bench

Asik is about a year younger

If you'd listen to the podcast it states.. If the blazers wouldn't have taken robin Lopez for dirt cheap.. We would have him by now.

    Asik TJones t Robinson '14 1st '15 1st '14 2nd for Aldridge Barton

Would've sealed the deal. It didn't work out that way now we are looking to offer less..

Multiple 1st, 2nds (includes returning blazers 2nd), Asik, TJones for Aldridge Barton.

Regardless.. Blazers are playing smart awaiting desperate teams to get the absolute max value for Aldridge. It happens every year. See: Kevin Martin, dwight in Orlando, many others.

They also lose money from aldrdge jersey sales, tickets, etc if traded before the season starts.

Also now it is a bit redundant to have a asik Lopez front court. Anyway, we are in great shape because Aldridge has reported called about getting traded to the rockets (podcast)

We would probably keep Lin even if we dealt for Aldridge, they don't need him.

Asik, Jones, Motiejunas and picks for Aldridge

    Lin/Beverley
    Harden/Garcia
    Parsons/Garcia
    Aldridge/Smith
    Howard/Aldridge

A deal like that would take a lot of luck.
