Apologies for my tweets and posts. Perhaps I overreacted. Admittedly, I was basing my feelings off Robinson's constant barrage of blown layup-- as a Sacramento King, as a Houston Rocket and back in the Summer League--and his steady stream of turnovers before finally getting benched for good.

    I'm not saying I expected 20 points and 10 rebounds a game.

To be specific it's just he didn't do anything to really blow me away or leave me feeling like we got a bigger return than what we let go between those two trades altogether.

The reason I said I haven't given up on him is because he was only in his rookie season so I realize there is room for improvement.

I don't see your tweets, but I enjoy your posts on the topic. This thread has been the first thread I go to when I visit CF lately. Your posts always have facts as support, and interesting facts that aren't the obvious ones everyone notices. 99% of the posts that are against your case are garbage, yet everyone gives you grief. I may be the only one, but I say keep at it!

Feels good to be able to go back in time and see the writing on the wall. Thanks again Morey.

Did Morey really target Garcia or was he lucky that he stepped up big time in the playoffs, both offensively and defensively? I like to think he knew ;)

    I'm thinking it as being:

    - Sacramento coulda forced Morey to take on John Salmons, Marcus Thornton or a contract like that, 2 MORE years left on them both.

    - Morey probably just chose the best player with most salary cap flexibility (Garcia as an EXPIRING contract). But he also happened to be a good veteran fit.

Basically: an easy player to go with. Thats if Sac even offered the other players and Morey had to haggle for Garcia.

(I think the team woulda been better without the trade. Rockets actually coulda used Cole Aldrich at backup center in playoffs. Morris coulda fit the Omri Casspi role now. Not to mention Patterson guarding 4's instead of Delfino or Garcia. Coulda let Parsons guard Durant. THAT aside though....)

Based on a few reports that Dwight Howard was leaning toward choosing Houston at last All Star break.... (tampering issues aside...) maybe THATS the thing that Morey actually DID KNOW.

Maybe on that intel THEN, THATS why Morey made the Robinson trade?
    :)

regardless, he was going to try to get howard. He had to make the move to be able to clear up room for him even if he didn't know if we would land Dwight. I'm sure Morey knew he was going in that trade to just immediately trade Trob (unless he just balls out the roof) for the cap space and Garcia with an expiring contract. Not only that, but it just gives us that cap space we could use in 2014, if we don't get Dwight.

He wanted Garcia because he was a very large expiring contract. So yes DM did target Cisco. The good play in the play-offs was a bonus.

Did you watch the game? He showed some nice stuff for having been off for so long... All over the glass. Style of play in summer league is definitely not a good fit for Meyers and T-Rob.

i think, to put it simply, they were more concerned with getting max cap room than going all in last year. so this was a cap move not a basketball move. it made us worse short term, but netted us dwight howard! even if dwight signed with another team we could've used that money to sign better players than patterson, aldrich and morris.

    1. What do you mean having been off so long? Was he off longer than some other players for some reason?

    2. It appears every style of play does not fit him.

I know stats are not everything, but they do give you some information as to what went on. I am pretty sure that even the very best 3 for 12 FG, 5 TO, 7 points, -16 +/- in an 18 point lost game known to man is not a very productive game.

Where did you find these pictures? I've been looking for the Howard in jersey pictures for a while and can't find any.
