Jeremy played very well defensively against Rose that game, held him to 48.5%TS, caused 4 TOs, and Kicks were tied going in to the 4th quarter, on the road against a very good Bulls team. Jeremy had a respectable 15/pts/8 assists/3 Tos, on a 54.9%TS...I think this performance is just a tad more telling that a random game in HS...

Patrick Beverly is a chink in Jeremy Lin's armor.

He is very capable of taking Lin's job. Lin fans would have you believe Lin is much better. It just isn't true. Hell, Beverly even had a higher PER then Lin just last year, and was WAY more valueable in the playoffs.

I will take those three point percentages and that amazing assist to turnover ALL DAY.

Lin needs to improve drastically If he wants to hold on, which I think he is capable.

Appreciate your initiative in taking the fight to the LOF before they can swamp the thread but can you clarify which part is the part that disqualifies those damn LOF in your eyes from being "Rockets fans?"

Is the part where they dislike Beverley the part where they out themselves as fake fans? Because I agree that not having a high opinion of a guy who's on the roster automatically makes them non Rockets fans. Disloyal is what we call it in this country. Only a fake fan would ever say anything bad about a Rockets player. Oorah.

Or is the part where they disagree with your assessment of a particular player what makes them not real Rockets fans? Because Morey was talking about being demoted to assistant GM and I think he meant he just promoted you to GM. Only a fake fan would be disagreeing.

I agree with your post btw. The only part I kinda disagree with you said it's "kind of pathetic" I think it's totally pathetic what they are doing. Also I couldn't really find where anyone was tearing down Beverley. It was mostly people wondering if you could already call Beverley the point guard of the future and wondering why a HS game mattered and stuff like that. Damn LOFs.

First of all, PER is a BS advanced stat, especially for players with limited minutes...2nd, Bev routinely played against inferior opponents, which artificially boosts his stats... 3rd, nobody has every game planned for Bev at any point in his career, unlike Lin who was game planned the 2nd most of anyone on the team last year 4th) He didn't play against starting quality talent in the playoffs, unlike Lin, whose 1st game was against an elite PG in Westbrook on the Road, in the first playoff game of his life, against the defending Western Conference Champs (2nd game he played well, 50%eFG, good defense, nice assists/rebounding numbers, Game was very close at halftime and he had the most minutes on the team)

Don't kid yourself. ABJ is not an acronym used by literally anyone. LOH is still highly debated by Clutchfans scholars. There is no definitive proof that anyone is on Clutchfans for the sole reason to hate Jeremy Lin, which is what would cause the (horrible) pejorative nickname LOH to be valid.

At any rate - OP - this video was a nice find. I got a kick out of it. Thanks for posting. Beverley has impressed a lot of people and is a great story of a blue-collar kind of player finding success. He's been talked about very positively during summer league, and the OKC Series made him a very visible asset to the team.

Wow. Yao ming started the first acronym (OF) and now jeremy started a new one. You would think rafer would have been the first to receive the AB acromnym.

    Wonder whats next.

Beverly has many skills. He can be one of the best basketball players in the world. He just needs to improve his shot, play making, make better on court decisions and he will be a great asset to any club

What makes them not Rocket fans in my eyes is the fact they care much more about Lin's success than the Rockets and will tear down anyone that takes some of Lin's spotlight. Whether that be Beverley, Harden, and most likely Dwight in the future.

How is the post I quoted not tearing down Beverley?

You don't kid yourself. If an acronym is mainstream enough on Clutchfans for someone to be butthurt over it, it's mainstream enough on Clutchfans for posters to use it to insult other posters, which is the point of "LOF" in the first place. But we ain't afraid.

Beverley is the greatest. Beverley fans are the greatest. We have proven ourselves true Americans, basketball connoisseurs and real Rockets fans. We are the vanguard. The thin red line between us and the LOFs.

We Beverley loyalists welcome the challenge. LOF bring it on. ABJ LOH stand proud.

It's almost like you only turn on the TV when Jeremy Lin is playing.

Lin was a dear in headlights, he was fearful and not confident and it showed. He looked soft.

Beverly played hard, fast and efficient, and he wasn't scared to be out there, despite some rookie mistakes. He has been in big games before over in Europe, completely unlike Jeremy Lin, who has yet to have a mediocre to good playoff game in his entire career. He has played poorly, or he has been injured. Take your pick.

At the end of the day, Beverly has produced at intense levels in Europe and playoff games in the NBA. Has Jeremy Lin?

I think it's more a case of Jeremy Lin being a chink in the Houston Rocket's armor.

Beverly is a brown stain on Lin's chances for success. LOL!

Let's put it this way. ABJ LOH #TeamBeverley is nothing if not classy.

If you are betting on Lin, you are betting on potential, because let's be honest, Patrick Beverly seems to have much larger nuts when the fat lady begins to sing.

Kevin McHale noticed it. How often does an undrafted rookie step in and steal almost 20 minutes a game from a stud PG? (It never happens, because Lin isn't a stud PG right now)
