Is an ATM machine a good investment given this location?

Won't say where it is exactly; but it's a relatively moderate to high foot traffic area with no outside ATM in the 1.5-2mi radius.

The retail locations near by are bars, restaurants, coffee shops, parking centers, and clubs. The competing ATM machine outside of business hours(M-F 9-5) is inside a restaurant that charges a $4 surcharge. The primary business in this radius is lunch business(usually $7 or less) with about 25% of the business asking for cash only, the others accepting cash and credit, and some giving discounts if you pay with cash. Lots of other areas for quick cash; club covers, valet tips, concierge tips, restaurant/coffee bar tips.

The exact location of the ATM would be right outside the parking area of a loft, between 3 restaurants, 2 bars, and 1 coffee shop. Within the 2 mi zone, there's about 20-25 lunch business spots with so far(I've counted) about 7 that want cash only.

I was thinking of contacting the property and placing an ATM(about $80 to lease) and charging a $2.50 surchage per transaction. I'm trying to estimate the amount of revenue I'd get but is difficult.

I'd say the #1 target(customer wise) is the HEAVY foot traffic at night where all ATMs are closed and the bars are open late, and the clubs are open late too with cover fees. On the average 10 PM, even on a Wednesday, foot traffic is quite high.
