Omer, I know how you feel, but you dont have to bash Lin to make your man looks good.

The biggest problem with Lin was his inconsistency - which is understandable giving his age, his story and him being on a new team.

He needs to do a couple of things to take the next step for this team:

    - improve his 3pt% to about 38%
    - getting better at defending the 3pt line
    - taking better care of the ball

If he can do that, he should even outperform his contract and really help this team.

Well, this might have something to do with you not following sports much. This board has made countless threads regarding whether certain Rockets players are overpaid or not. In fact, EVERY sports fan for every single team has talked about whether certain players are worth what they're making.

And if you follow sports beyond Jeremy Lin, I'm sure you'd know what is a very common subject among sports fans.

    Thanks for proving my point.

Way to take those potshots! Ow, they hurt so much!

Now I have to prove myself to you and how I'm such a big sports fan and how I know things just because you hurt my feelings and insinuated that I'm a fan of a person and that means I can't also be a fan of sports.

    Or not.

Lowry is better than Lin, but we basically got harden for him so I am not complaining.

he is not. Lowry struggled on a new team and a new situation. if he was better, he would have just rolled out of bed and destroye the competition. instead, he shot the ball the worst in 3 years. To me, lowry, dragic, and lin are interchangeable with each other. but look who is the youngest of all three.

Well, if you want to follow a sport, wouldn't it be a good idea to understand what sports fans talk about? If you wish to just be ignorant for the sake of ignorance, I guess that's your prerogative. But I'm not going to without non-positive opinions of Jeremy Lin just because his fans seem to take anything negative said to be an affront to Lin personally.

Although I do wish Lin fans would stop being hypocrites and also take up the fight for the likes of Rafer Alstons, Juwan Howards of the world. Players who were bashed endlessly on this board but never had any fans to defend their dignity.

He is so...Lol.. Lowry didn't get the opportunity to start right off the bat in Toronto. They still had Jose Calderon. But he was more valuable to the team being traded instead of being kept on the team. I won't debate you that they are all interchangeable, but there is an argument to be made on being a better fit... Lowry and Dragic are on different teams. So this debate will be between Bev and Lin (and Isaiah when he gets in the mix).

Lin and Bev will probably split time. And if Lin is only averaging 25-28 minutes a night. He's over paid but the point guard position as a whole is not over paid because Bev exceeds his contract.

Again, thanks for a perfect example of the kind of passive-aggressive overgeneralizing troll posts that continue to happen when it comes to Lin.

Either you're too obtuse to realize that I never actually took a side in this thread or you're aware of it and just trying to troll me for trying to get people to knock it off. I really hope it's the latter, because if not, then you must see crazy Lin fans everywhere.

Uhhh, meh's not trolling (maybe you should look that word up). I think meh's, like my, patience is wearing thin with some Lin fans. We're not allowed to voice any type of negative opinion anymore without being vilified. And dudes labeling anyone and everyone who is critical of Lin "haters" isn't overgeneralizing at all, is it? I don't see you calling any of them out. Btw your last 2 replies were the most "passive aggressive" quotes in the past 5 pages I've just read.

Not sure who should be called the hypocrite here.

Why would any fan of X player defend Y player just because Y has no fan of his own to defend him? By the very definition of fan, that simply doesn't make any sense.

Now if we were sports analysts, and someone made a bad analysis of Y player, then maybe. But none of us are. We are all here because we are fans of the team or certain players on the team; and as such, we have no obligation whatsoever to defend another team or player of whom we are not a fan. If you want to do that, it's your own business and of your own choosing. Please do not stuff that down others' throat.

you are not taking into account the actions of Kevin McHale. what if McHale puts Beverley in as the starter for the Rockets. What chance would Lin have to prove the numbers that he is a valuable member of the Rockets? I'm pretty sure McHale isn't the biggest Lin Fan and I think I know exactly why.

Off tangent but personally, I've always enjoyed finding the merits of players like Alston, Howard, Luther Head, Battier and Jared Jeffries. All role players who were limited to varying degrees but I respected because I felt gave their 100% for this team.

I put Lin in the same category, though he has the "potential" to be more.
