Baccano -dubbed. Attack on Titan - well, there are no dubs yet. Fate/Zero - subbed.

I've been watching this ridiculousness on Adult Swim; I just can't go back to the beginning; can only stomach 1 episode a week! I like the main Characters but I feel the show is just silly (and slow). I don't understand why it is so popular.

Why would Adult Swim start on this silly ass arch and not one that has more action? 7 weeks of carnival games is killing me...

I started at the beginning... I'm only five eps in. So far there is a lot of backstory. Shanks is more interesting than Luffy at this point.

Read the manga. 10 times better.

You won't regret it. It's the greatest manga of all time in my opinion.

Is there a lot of rewrites from the manga to the anime?

    No, not really.

AS started with this arc because it's just before the Water 7 arc, which is one of the best arcs of the anime/manga. That arc also features extensive backstory flashbacks, so for new watchers of the anime, they'll get to see all the crew's backstory.

Stick with it through the silliness going on now, it's an amazing anime. Great action, humor, and story. Very good characters.

Hey am I the only one who is not a fan of dubs, for some reason once I watch the subbed version the dubbs no longer match the character.

For the most part, that's the general consensus. Funimation does some pretty good dub work.

Hopefully the Knight in the Area returns for a season 2, though it's highly unlikely. I can't believe they would stop the series before the big match against Yoin. Ah well, at least it wasn't as short as Kuroko no Basuke was.

I agree, the Dub work on Full Metal Alchemist was pretty good IMO.

I can honestly say kuroko's basketball will have a season 2 during the winter season. Matching up perfectly with the winter tournament in the manganime.

I'm pretty much like this. Whatever version I hear first I can't listen to the other. Sub -> dub is impossible for me, but dub -> sub is a much easier transition for me. I'm sub most of the time.

I agree that funimation does some wonderful dubs.

The thing about the subs vs dubs debate is that people who use subs obviously don't know Japanese, which means that they have no idea when something pops up that sounds very, very weird in Japanese. Japanese dubs are generally better, but it's nowhere near a concrete rule, and there are animes where the English dub is much, much better - FMA Brotherhood, Baccano, and Durara are three of them.

Good point the initial wave of anime dubbed when I was a kid probably put me off of dubs. I will admit that i particularly like FMA dubbed, and Inuyasha and Trigun are even either way to me.

The shows I like the most, ouran, Fairy Tail and lovely complex I have watched both the dubs and subs. I can say that there is a difference but honestly I liked the subs of them as much as the dubs. The only one I struggled with was fairy tail. When I watched a lot of the sub eps in a row... it was startling to hear Happy in the dubbed version.

I think the more recent dubs are really good with funimation... The older ones aren't as great, but I haven't met a truly horrible dub yet.
