You ever seen a foetus in a hoody and baggy pants? That's what I thought.

Actually, we now have a precedent whereby you can arm yourself and follow people around in the dark because that's not illegal. If they try to start something with you because you're following them just shoot them, self-defense is your friend.

I see what you did there...

GZ has an English first-name, a German-Jewish Surname and he looks Hispanic.

Expected Roddy to say something crazy when the verdict came out. He has to know he can't tweet stuff like this.

As I said earlier I expected Zimmerman to be acquitted. The prosecution did a terrible job and has since they charged him with 2nd degree murder. They should've stuck with a manslaughter conviction but asking the judge to let the jury consider that and the child abuse charge at the end just made them seem desperate.

Actually the old testament God dealt with a similar situation :)

Check the ninevites and what they did to his people.

What God did was send Jonah to tell them to repent before judgement came, which they did do and he forgave them.;)

    Since you asked and all

This is exactly what I'm talking about. So you think it's okay to make every situation where something between a black person and white person about racism? Is that where we are as a black community?

I get where people are coming from because of the blatant and outright injustices of the legal system against black people but the fact is people already had their mind made up before they even heard much about the case.

I'll presume an "Uncle Tom" or "sell out" slur is next, so I'll wait.

That's true.....as long as the person you are aiming at is black.

Did George Zimmerman profile Trayvon Martin? Probably
Was racism the reason for the jury's verdict? Of course not

    Pretty much seems that way.

If you want to murder someone, bring them to Florida, get in a fight with them (who starts it is irrelevant), and shoot them dead. Make sure no one is around to see, and claim self defense.

Boom, dead person and you're off scott-free.

Look Fignewton......I'm not interested in "debating" you and I highly doubt you "get" it.

I highly doubt you understand where we are as "a black community" or what we can do to better our situation.

Just go on doing what you always do in your daily life and leave this **** to those of us who live it and actively try to improve it everyday.

No, I'm saying it is legitimately confusing but, I would think that a man's appearance has more to do with this kind of interaction than the origin of his name.

I would not naturally put that face with the name "George Zimmerman." Neither would most people.

See, here's the thing. It is NOT illegal to follow someone. It IS illegal to turn around and punch them in the face. It IS illegal to slam their head into the pavement, and it IS NOT illegal for you, with your head being slammed into the pavement, to use deadly force to preserve your life.

That "precedent" didn't arise tonight, it is long established. The jury deliberated this case relatively quickly because this one was easy legally speaking. Like it or not.

I carry everywhere I go. I have been in combat situations and have no desire to relive them. I truly hope I can get through the rest of my life without killing anyone. But I am NOT going to be a victim. I am also NOT going to make any bad decisions like Zimmerman made. But if I find myself getting my head slammed int the pavement by anyone - no matter how old or what color they are - I am damned skippy going to put one in their chest to stop that from happening, and the magic words - "I feared for my life, officer" will flow from my mouth afterwords.

I am most certainly glad that these laws are in place. Without them I can't protect myself and my family without fear of being imprisoned. I do NOT rely on LEOs to get there in time, as they are always 5 or more minutes away. And I will NOT sacrifice my personal security just to ease your conscience.
