It should upset most reasonable people that Zimmerman, a guy who probably shouldn't have been allowed to be armed in the first place, is now in possession of the gun he used to kill Martin with. Can we get guns out of the hands of violent people, please? And while we're at it, make some sensible self-defense laws regarding said guns?

The Census Bureau classifies Latinos as either black or white (and I believe Amerindian also IIRC), so saying Zimmerman is a white Hispanic is redundant in and of itself. As for the reaction by most of the people I know, I'm rolling my eyes. It's sad how some blacks (not all, keep that in mind) are some of the most bigoted people I know. We're all people and though I'm quite aware of the historical injustices of the "JustUs" system, this whole racial inequality thing gets taken overboard way too often. Us African-Americans had no choice but to stick together through centuries of prejudice, overt racism and blatant injustices but now instead of letting bygones be bygones, we too often blow everything out of proportion as a race issue. This is why no one will listen to us when there's a legit claim of racism.

Honestly, I've been described as white on a police report (auto accident). I'm birracial but even my drivers license says AA. It happens.
500+ years later and our lives are still expendable.......this is why we don't trust the system. Not if we are smart.
We had dumbasses of every community threatening to put a bullet in Anthony's head. Did it come to fruition? Of course not. Same here. Everyone is talking about vigilante justice. It won't happen. If it does happen, then its a damn shame. Not for Zimmerman but for people that think running around shooting people and completely disregarding the point of having a justice system (however flawed it is).
Why shouldn't he have been allowed to be armed in the first place? Stop trying to remove people's civil rights, please.

As I have already stated before similar events in the past have happened and nobody lost their lives. The talks of riots and vigilance is overzealous thinking. That doesn't mean it can't happen but very unlikely.

Zimmerman already did that when he decided to execute a young man last year. This system is beyond broken....we know better than to trust it. There is a reason why the elders are always wary of the goverment....we just have to do a better job of heeding their advice.
