Of course it does. Will you be supporting Ronny White any time soon after he called fro 6 people to kill themselves?
Why would the media use the police report? They know what Zimmerman looks like. They know he is Hispanic.
I find the comments here pretty funny. Imagine this. Right now there are millions of white people breathing a collective sigh of relief because a hispanic man was aquitted of murdering a black man. Why? Because they believe that there was a strong possibility - based upon past history, news reporting, twitter comments, etc - that the black community would take out their anger by attacking the white community. Yeah, race relations have come a LONG way. There is racism on ALL sides. As for the particulars of the case, the state ALWAYS had a terrible case, which is why there were no grand jury proceedings and no arrest until race-baiters like Jackson and Sharpton showed up and threatened riots unless there was an arrest. Oh, and apparently the Justice Department had a hand in it as well... This whole case was absurd. It never should have happened. Zimmerman never should have gotten out of his car and tried to follow Martin. Bad judgment call. But not a crime. Anyone who actually listened to the 911 call from Zimmerman knows, however, that there was no malicious intent. Why call the cops if you plan on killing the person? Why try to vector them to your location? His voice did not sound stressed or angry, more resigned that another possible burglar who had been plaguing the neighborhood would likely get away. There was no anger, hate, or any other malicious emotion displayed during the call. The State had to prove that there was. They couldn't. They then had to prove that Zimmerman's use of force was unlawful. They couldn't. Their case sucked. Even if Zimmerman DID set out to kill Martin (which is absurd - why not just shoot him before the fight ensued?), the burden was on the state to prove it. They couldn't. This is how the justice system works people. You are presumed innocent until PROVEN BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT to be guilty. As long as your defense can present reasonable alternatives - and Zimmerman's explanation fits the evidence as presented - then no jury can convict. You may not like it but that system was put into place to protect YOU and ME and everyone else who might wrongly be accused of a crime that we did not commit. There are standards in place to prevent a judge or jury to arbitrarily convict you based upon their personal feelings in a case. This is on balance a good thing, and without those protections the potential for tyrannical government is too great. I personally believe that this judgement was correct. I also understand disagreement with that judgement. But understand that there are good reasons for having the system that we have, and on balance they serve to protect our freedoms.

My point was it exists on both sides. For every tweet you find supporting conviction I can find on supporting the opposite. Neither side of this situation is immune dumbassery but for some reason the Zimmerman supporters have heavily posted anti-Zimmerman tweets when it does absolutely nothing to further there cause, whatever it may be.
Isn't the media's job to get the story right? Now you are satisfied that they continued to misrepresent a salient fact about this case...
I hope everyone enjoyed their 410 pages, and counting, making up something like 8200 replies. All for this case. For those "yelling" about the media and their coverage, pro and con, think about this thread, and ask yourself, those who participated in it the most, how you are any different from the media's obsession with this story. Our system in action, at least Florida's rather strange aspect of it. Six women decided the fate of someone responsible for the death of a young man. Fate decided, at least his criminal fate. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he's sued by Martin's family for damages in civil court. Guess we'll see. Personally, I'm glad it's over. Maybe there will actually be news on some of the cable news channels now, instead of the same endless rehashed theories and opinions, over and over and over again. So what's happening in Egypt, and the South China Sea?
The facts that I don't believe are in dispute are that George Zimmerman was an overzealous wannabe cop neighborhood watch type, it is a subset of people I know well. He pursued a teenager who he didn't think "belonged" in his little empire. Maybe at some point the kid freaked out on him...I probably would have too in the situation. The facts I do know, appear to make Mr. Zimmerman a disgusting person. Our legal system found him innocent. I didn't plea for a retrial or riots or anything. I simply stated George Zimmerman is aware he behaved abominably and that it needlessly cost a young man his life, and that I hope Trayvon finds justice in this world or the next. I also think GZ's freedom should be enough, I do hope he feels remorse and further hope he doesn't make a crap load of money off of his bad behavior...but he probably will.
Agreed, who let these women out of the kitchen and let them participate in a court of law? Ridiculous
It would be nice to one day be able to walk down the street as an African man and people don't automatically assume that you are a criminal and out to cause them harm.
As I have said, everybody who has paid attention to this case has stoked the flames of the issues surrounding it and I am not afraid to take my blame in that at all.
So how long before everyone forgets about this trial and moves on with their lives? One week. Remember Casey Anthony? Exactly.
because we are talking about the media's obsession with the story while the media is talking about the story? You wrote the difference in your sentence.
people gloating about death--- due process of law applied. hooray, even though laws have seemingly been applied very unevenly with regards to GZ and Marissa Alexander. I see no need for smiley faces, to be perfectly frank, but it is not surprising to see those who turn every debate into some holy crusade on the sanctity of life (and a very boring one on that) fail to recognize those same basic principles in certain situations.
