Unlike you and you're buddies, us genuine fans don't support just one player and bash everyone(harden) to make our lord look better.

Even if we could with out a doubt that he's not "overpaid." It wouldn't do this thread any bit of justice.

Even if we could prove that Jeremy was appropriately paid. We have arguments that would say:

Beverley is a better player without a doubt, so he should start. We should not be paying a back up (Lin) that much money. Trade him.

Even if we could prove that Jeremy Lin is improving, has a respectable 3-PT% after the All-Star Break, people counter with:

Beverley provides hustle, defense and can shoot the three ball. (I stay undecided because I simply don't have enough to go on whether or not he is a good or bad shooter.)

Even if we show that Lin is a capable starting PG getting slightly above average pay, the people can always say:

Over rated, crazy fans, no defense, turn overs, doesn't look like a player, etc. Every PG in the league is better than him. ABJ.

So, there's that. And there's objectivity. Fact is, no matter how good our argument is, the only guy whose gonna change the people's perception, is Jeremy Lin. The only way he'd ever get positive recognition is if he:
    1) Outplays his contract by putting up all-star numbers. (Going to be impossible and I think highly improbable)
    2) Simply elevates to a level where no one can criticize his play. (Hopefully, he gets there, somewhat)

Mark my words Lin's next contract will be for more years and more annually.

Lin's chemistry with Dwight is going to be off the charts.

All 3 are better than him so if this is your criteria, yea.

At this point, it would be smarter for us to keep Lin for the first half of the season. If he improved keep him, if not I am sure the trade market will be more open near trade deadline anyways. I am rooting for the kid and think if his shooting coach is good Jeremy can come back as a strong player for us.

Explains my signature real well doesn't it? To be honest, I wonder whose going to be the whipping boy next if we do trade Lin?

I can't say if Jeremy was fully rehabilitated last season. I got a feeling that Jeremy will have a hell of a season with the Rockets this year! Then you all ask this freaking question again next season!

I gobble every Lin thread at CF. No, i dont start it. Maybe i did one or two in my rookie days. Gosh, thought i even posted BS Report link (BR those early days dont have the current rep it has now). Now Im wiser (a little, chuckle), so i just read and troll some of my favorite posters.

When did I bash Yao? pointing out flaws is bashing?. no one is perfect. tmac had his flaws as did every other great player.Even the greatest center of alltime wasn't perfect and it took him years to get to perfection.

He's not really overpaid from a business perspective but is on a production perspective. People here gripe about his contract because he's overpaid compared to a lot of the value players wizard Morey has a gnack for finding. Lin being the most overpaid on the Rockets says a lot about how great a GM Morey is.

None of those guys would have put up Lin's stats playing next to Harden.

Lin is also the youngest player on that list and probably has the lowest usage rate among those players also.

Not overpaid at all. like all those guys in the second tier of pgs, lin had nights where he couldn't find his head for 4 games in a row, then followed it up with four stellar performances. By age 26, 8 mil a year will seem cheap. The talent is clearly there.

you just don't drop these numbers:
22 games with 17 or more points and 6+ assists at age 24.

compared to super mega star mike conley at age 24....lol.

If lin was 32 years old going in the lane with a tear drop that missed almost every time, then yeah...over paid. Lin will be a rocket unless one of the top 10 pgs throws a fit and is available. Everybody else is on the same boat and the current teams they're with, will more than likely offer them a bigger contract. On another team, he would jack it up more than 12 times a game and have more points. But then I wouldn't care as he would no longer be a ROCKET.

All three are older and all three have a higher usage rate on a ****tier team(meaning inflated stats).
