But then again, what has Morey done to upgrade the bench besides Omri Casspi ?

We need to look farther than the Thunder this year, it's about getting past the Clippers, Grizzlies, and Spurs. And those teams are still stacked.

You are absolutely right. Chalmers was not the only one guarding Lin. Miami continuously trapped him with Wade and others. When I discussed the game with a respected former college player, he said the failure was with the coach and the other players. When a team tries to trap a player the player has to get rid of the ball immediately or he will lose it. Lin had no one to pass to as the other Knicks were far away from him. D'antoni should have call a time out immediately and told them how to help Lin. Smith is a LIn basher from way back.

SAS - most improved reporter. He's become a fresh of breath air as opposed to the caricature of a reporter he was during his first stint with ESPN. Maybe I've just learned what to take seriously.

I can't believe SAS is bringing up that tired "Lin can't go left" argument. I've seen Lin go with his left hand quite a few times. I'm not sure I've ever seen Harden go with his right hand but SAS doesn't ever mention that.

Also, if Lin is a shooting guard playing point and Harden always has the ball in his hands, why not play Harden at PG and Lin at SG?!

This is a myth tha won't die. I too have seen Lin go left and put the ball up with his left hand.

I honestly use to hate Stephen A but then espn hired Chris Broussard and I saw what real stupidity looks like. Smith is knowledgeable and insightful, he has a real personal relationship with players not sources and gives constructive criticism. I value his opinion and love to watch him on espn whether its first take or his one on one interviews he's money. I only wish he would b**** slap Broussard on tv LoL

Not a big SAS fan but I think this interview + the DH12 pieces a few days ago just shows that he is probably a logical person in private. It's just his "ESPN" character that he portrays to keep his job that is annoying.

He sounded the same as he does on that show. He's terrible. His 'analysis' is a joke. The only reason he's getting pumped up on this site now is for defending Dwight. Those who say he sounds better now or is improved haven't watched his show. He's the exact same as he always was. He's a master at talking long and saying nothing, which people mistake for being knowledgeable, apparently. OR WHATEVER THE CASE MAY BE.

SAS quote from the interview " He strolled into Madison Square Garden and gave it to Raymond Felton, the New York Knicks lost that game. And more importantly, they looked lost, because everybody walked into that locker room and looked that Raymond Felton like "what the hell was wrong with you? How did you let this boy come up here and bust your butt that way"

hahaha priceless! That's good enough for me - thank you SAS

I have to agree. I also have to say that, in my humble opinion, Smith is getting some nice things said about him here because he's saying nice things about not only our new superstar, the best center in the league, but about the rest of the team. Of course we're apt to be inclined to sing his praises. Personally, I can't forget all the goofy things I've heard him say over the years. Now if he consistently speaks well of Howard, Harden, Parsons, Asik, Lin, McHale, and yes, Alexander, it could be hard to dislike him. I'm far from being there at this point in time. So pardon me, folks, while I still dislike the guy as a sports journalist. As an entertainer? If you like his shtick, then be entertained!
